Firstly, he my be stupid for saying something ambiguous that can be taken out of context. He does not blame women for getting themselves raped, there is however some truth in what he says, he merely warns that if you dress provocatively, act promiscuosly you are more likley to find yourself in inappropriate situations. Are those that drive cars often more likely to be in a car accident than those who rarely ride cars? Probably so.
He doesn't say it's okay for muslims to rape girls who dress immodestly, though the story and the media subtely "presents" it this way to generate a stir, Good story = $$$.

The catholic church has shown prejudice to women for thousands of years, no one is disputing that there are elements that require forward thinking and change, but your acceptance that Islam exists only to subjeugate women shows only how little you know beyond your backyard.

see nutter's post. and he (and you) obviously have a complete misunderstanding of the nature of rape. and i really dont see any ambiguity in the quotes.

no one here is saying he has said that. but he quite obviously puts the responsibility onto women, which is absolutely ludicrous and unacceptable.

but we're not arguing about the catholic church are we? comparing one ty doctrine to another ty doctrine means nothing. i made this post to criticise this man, and some elements of this religion. if you wanna start a thread about catholicisms atrocities, go right ahead.
nowhere did i state islam exists solely to oppress women. what i did say was that the religion was and is used to do so. not arguing that islam is bad because of this, just that it is a tool of sexual social control in the wrong hands.

Maybe someone here should tell all people of Middle Eastern appearence that they'd be less likely to be shot if they don't wear backpacks while running for a tram.
