in college my roommate use to have a cat who would always sleep at the foot of my bed for some reason, sometimes in the middle of the night he'd start clawing at my leg like no tomorrow, one time so much so i had to kick him (literally) off the bed. bastid!!!
then he use to be a real bitch and sleep on my pillow on my head. i push him away then like 5mins later he slowly crawls back ontop of my head so i got pissed and grabbed him and picked my head up and rested it right on him...needless to say he stayed there all night but i woke up with cat hair all over the place... |

i don't think i'm being selfish or "taking the ty way out" at all... like i said i've had cats declawed before and it didn't affect them negatively at all. my last cat Xander (the one who lives with my ex) is still crazy and playful and functions just fine without his claws, and it was a hell of a lot easier for him to play with me and sleep next to me after that.
i seriously wouldn't do it if i thought it was a terrible & inhumane thing to do. |

it feels like a substance lecture, dont let it be! the cat is fine, just young. im not trying to make you feel bad. sasha will be alright, sans declaw. why you think a major surgery will make him 'alright' when he is 'alright' without it is beyond me| |

You're not. And you shouldn't feel bad about the decision you've made. You're doing it when the cat is young enough to fully recover and you live in an environment that isn't conducive to having a cat around with claws. It's a responsible decision and, in my opinion, the right one. |
