how old is sasha?

Cats have claws, deal with it, either you learn to live with the claws or you don't have cats, declawing is cruel and inhumane.

While that may be true for older cats, as a kitten it isn't very hard on the animal to be declawed because it still has a lot of growing and learning to do and it will best adjust to the loss of their front claws. Waiting and deciding later after the furniture is ed is also much harder on the cat. We declawed our cat when it was a kitten and now at the age of 15 you cant possibly tell me my cat isnt one the friendliest and happiest cats you'll ever meet.

So, you could adapt to life without your fingernails, but would you want to?

Umm, how would not having fingernails affect the way I do most tasks? Maybe picking my nose or scratching myself, but when I go through and think about the things I do everyday, I can easily tell you that not having fingernails would affect, at best, 2% of my daily life.

thats hardly an excuse because you didnt take into effect that unlike a cat, I cant use my toenails to make up for my lost fingernails like a cat can.

well it doesnt matter as myra has already decided to declaw.

i know there are happy declawed cats out there, but if you judge it against human surgery, most people dont get surgery for the hell of it. its expensive and/or can hurt or kill you. getting surgery done when theyre small is best, but they also grow out of their kid habits as they grow so its a double edged sword.

but all i have to say is, sorry myra - i didnt mean to make you feel bad, its your decision. i just feel a different way on the issue than you. sasha looks cute and i have to remove oscar from my cell phone charger now|

what about people who get breast implants? nose jobs? liposuction? those are all procedures that are done for cosmetic reasons rather than health reasons...

it's all good, biz. i certainly understand where you're coming from, and it's definitely one of those issues that people are going to have differing opinions about. all i ask is that people respect my opinion and i'll respect theirs!

tell Oscar that Sasha says hi and that he wishes they could play with the cell phone charger together. :D

Yea, and those cosmetic surgeries are done by choice, no-one forced anyone to have cosmetic surgery. You can justify the declawing all you want but I think it's wrong.
