haha then you shouldnt be ing downloading if you dont know how the to check rars.... hence why theres a mother en sfv file to verify intergratity of tha archives. haha secondly its not pirating if you dont en share it i personally share ing nothing im a greedy son of a bitch..... now for downloading games and dvds and so on yeah yeah off piracy has been around since the mother en dawn of media time. it wont change so who gives a flying . yeah its nice to not have to worry about having to find a new serial or so on so forth... two en words en stupid.... sorry my friends you all are beating a dead ing horse theres a reason why isps offer faster speeds then ever one simple mother en reason downloads...... yet that same isp will surrender your ass to the da if its a matter of their ass or yours even tho no normal person needs 10mbps down and 1mbps up. yes stealing any media is morally wrong but so is fisting and taking s on people but it still happens lol anyhow tho back to my point if the s good pay for if its dont pay and run the mother ******s into the ground so they quit pouluting the en world....... pirating is fun think about it you could go into best buy pay 650dollars for a program that you will only use for non media creating purposes yes they offer the home versions for 300% less however you get for features and for support and for quality. its like going and buying a 25dolla mobo instead of fessing up for a 250dollar one. yes it works but at what cost. now im just en rambling so ill keep rambling on about this stupid en topic that im contributing too which i guess would make me a stupid en person. pirating movies effects alot hence why theres alot less quality movies coming out where as 7 years ago there were lots. yet now tho we still blow away box office records when a good one comes out so has it really effected the movie industry or has it just really effected the quality of the movie industry. one thing tho that gets me time and time again if i own the vinyl yet download the cdm rip and contains say one or two more mixes then the vinyl does should i be genralised as a pirater? i mean i just spent 20bux on a rekkord yet the cdm is only valued at 10bux so whats the wrong done..... correct i would still be pirating becuase i did not purchase thoose few extra mixes you see my friends its a loose loose we all do it we all have we all will so who gives a infact i am all for pirating pirating does more good then harm unless off course your an aging band that is drastically loosing album sales as the 30 - 60year olds that used to buy your 20dollar cds are now merely downloading your music becuase you en suck but your music goes good on days that you either need to seduce or impress a member of the opposite sex or a day for you to go tear jerking all over yourself like a blubbering baby. point is there is no ing point software piracy and trying to enforce it is like the war on drugs...... merely a tactic to create revenue where there wouldnt of been in the first place.

now the facts
The RIAA's questionable math has been discussed at length in the past -- where they love to trot out the claim that each shared song is worth somewhere between $750 and $30,000 in "losses."
so is 750 - 30,000 the cost of one song? last time i checked there are not many cds even worth $750 dollars however lets do the math.. we will say a typical cd has 12 tracks so 12x750=$9,000 allrite so they are saying the typical cd is $9,000 dollars so lets see whats a libral estimates based on data collected would be totalling all costs for production.
1. Studio Time 100 hours $2,600
2. CD Mastering Starting at around $500
3. Album Art Starting at $350
4. Photo Shoots Starting At $650
5. Mastering Of 70Minutes Of Music $2,450
Now The More Costs
we will say it is $10,000 for distrabution and so poster printing and then the advertising budget which is allways the most ridiclous part of it all. lets tally this all up now
$2,600.00+$500.00+$350.00+$650.00+$2,450.00+$10,000.00=$16,550.00 so let me get this straight paying $9,000.00 x 2 would cover the cost of a production album does this add up i think not
my point is the fact that we are all being scammed we are paying for porn plain and simple its like paying for porn. plain and simple i steal and i will allways steal music software and movies why you ask becuase i personally do not like being scammed and untill this multi billion dollar industry can make me not feel like im being scammed some companies do this better then others. i will buy a cd if theres a reason to buy it even tho i can download any extras still just to have. same with movies and games and so on. bottom line tho most companies suck ass at doing this and they arent loosing money off of me they are loosing money off of people who share their music on mass filesharing programs while i use but i dont share. if you dont like my post good for you dont like me good for you but cant hide the truth |

As I said on the page before this, you're not infringing on any copyrights by downloading something, only uploading it. Okay, it's kind of like recording a movie off television back in the days of VHS. You have there a hardcopy of this movie, which you didn't pay for. Now would it be illegal for you to broadcast that movie? Yep. Is it probably illegal for you to share it with a friend? Yeah but no one is going to know and/or care.
Schools get in trouble a lot for showing classrooms clips of movies (or full movies -- it doesn't matter the length and in fact, my middle school ran into this problem.) Anyway, the reason is, you need a license to show it to an audience. It's okay if it's like five people, but like -- here's what my school would do: we'd have this daily news thing that would get broadcasted to all the classrooms, and the editors would put in clips from movies (maybe a 2 minute, 5 minute clip) at the end of the school's news segment and show it to every classroom, which basically, we have no distribution rights to do that.
I know it sounds stupid as hell, but it's all in that fine print.
So, to answer your question: no, unless you share those files or sell 'em on some CD or something... like making your debut CD to distribute on amazon.com made up of singles you've ripped from sets is pretty illegal.
In fact, it's illegal to distribute broadcasted sets without radio's permission (though no one cares and DJs and radio stations are very lax about it. Hell, most DJs offer their sets for download.)
Anyway, ripping singles from tracks takes a long time (I do it) because I have to fade out both ends and first find the track's start and end time and try to get as little of the transition as possible... and usually the actual song is like 9 minutes and mine ends up being 6 minutes because I took off 1 1/2 on both sides or something ridiculous. |

I haven't read the last couple of pages, just seemedlike recycled arguements, so I'll add my two cents and hope I'm not repeating anyone:
As a student, I simply cannot afford to buy many CDs. I do buy CD's when I can, but thats not very often. In a year, when I get a job (hopefully) I will be able to increase my buying power, but atm it's a matter of simple economics.
p.s. I don't dl many mp3s anymore, but if I get the opportunity I don't shrink from it. |

i'm totally against buying random original .
if something's good i'd buy it. but if it's bad or mediocre i surely won't. this year i bought one cd, three dvds. yeah, that's about it ... i can't possibly explain to myself why i should buy something i'm not fully contend with. |
