i have thought about all aspects of my decsion. i'm comfortable with it.
i see your point though, but nothing is stopping me. i have no doubt in my mind i will do this and be successful at it.
i had doubts w/ all the other artsy for sure though. this is the first time i've made a big life decision, and didn't secretly doubt myself. |

It had its moments but they where few and far between doing creative makeup or doing it for someone famous, but it was mostly just ripping hair out of people tons of physically hard work and pay sucked.
Creative and artistic jobs cease to be creative and fun when they become professional.
When I moved into cosmetics sales my pay doubled, I eventually got to travel and see the world a bit more. Course that was a lot of hard work as well but it dragged my sorry ass out of debt and eventually led to other oppertunities where I own my own nice car, own my own nice house and a few other bits and pieces on the side.
Stick with the legal secretary for a few years and ditch the arts course, get out of debt and then think about becoming a lawyer in the process even if its a deferred or part time course over 10years, if thats how long it takes, so be it and do your creative things on the side as something you love doing rather than something you have to do. |

you hit the nail on the head. that's what i've been meaning to say. i dont want to HAVE to be creative and have my salary depend on it. lol |

Not always true!
If you are good and develop your own "style" you will gain respect in the field and your clients will give you all the creative space you desire.
You need to educate your clients and learn how to defend your ideas.

I'll be blunt and honest with you because you where always nice to me back in the old days of TA <3
Parties over, youre all grown up now so pack your junk, work hard and get on with the serious business of making a life for yourself and becoming financially secure because no one is going to magically pop out of a lamp and grant you three wishes.
By all means if an oppertunity pops up choke the bastard for all its worth but essentially you've got to make the best of what life can throw at you and learn to live with the fact you might take a slip back once in awhile but dont let it be your fault. Trust me, you'll be a happier person when you dont have to be sick with worry about debts, bills, rent, food and all that when your pay covers them.
Remember its not always about how smart you are if thats a worry, its about being stubborn and clarity of thought knowing what you want to do more than anything else.
