Bad news for Milwaukee nightlife.. Sol Fire & Mantra close

i for one am extremely disappointed to see these venues close. they're supposedly renovating mantra into a sports bar. of course that's all speculation though. |

| sucks mantra is closing before I'm even old enough to party at what seems to be one of Milwaukee's better night spots. Sol Fire on the other hand I've been to once and I've heard good things of their food. I may have to try and go there again once more before it closes. That place is a real gem as well. |

When Amato announced his departure, I knew instantly that the scene in Milwaukee was dead.
When the same 7 DJ's are playing every single night at the only clubs in Milwaukee, it's hard to build a scene. The crew that "runs" things takes care of themselves and their friends, and are generally not open to most new folks. When you have a scene that is founded in such an exclusive mindset, it's really, really hard to get a good number of people out for anything - Much less pack a club like Mantra.
Hopefully things will change eventually. |

i guess it's not that surprising, now that Amato left Milwaukee... but i'm still just shocked that my favorite club in Milwaukee is closing.
lineup the next couple weeks is pretty sick tho...
Jan 19th: Kaskade
Jan 26th: Inland Knights
i spent most of the morning browsing apartments in Milwaukee/Shorewood (i'm too ing anxious to move out of Waukesha), so maybe once i move down there i'll try to run the show and open my own club, lol
