When you go to another country, you follow thier culture and rules, you dont continue following your home rules.

No one deserves to die. But you have to be careful when you are in another country. And not provoke the locals. You have to know that you are not invincible.

This I will agree with. Mexico can be pretty scary at night. I'm surprised his friend didn't rush to leave with him as he was getting kicked out. I for one, when I was there, would never leave a friend alone.

I had a realy bad situation in cuba, but thank god i got out of it alive.

Me and a friend rented mopeds with a group of girls to drive more varadero to matanzas city. It was 5 of us on 3 mopeds and i ended up riding solo. AS we were going down the highway, i picked up a female hitchhiker and we ended up kinda losing distance, then like 1/4 of the way my moped broke down. I had to walk 4 hours in the dark on the side of a highway with a hitchiker who dont speak english. I was soo ing scared passing by little villages with people looking at us wow. At one point i couldnt walk anymore due to dehydration, and the heavy moped. At that moment cuben police drove by and gave us a lift to matanzas to meet my dumb ass friend and the other girls.

This little adventure made me love cuba tho.

LOL that must've been scary. I'm surprised you even kept the mophed. I would have left it on the side of the road. How far were you from the town when the cops picked you up? Lucky you they came along!

When I was in Mexico, some of my friends were doing blow and smoking weed in their room. The hotel found out somehow and the police came to check it out. There was 4 of them, and the police told them to fork up 400USD each or they were all going to prison. Am I ever glad I wasn't in their room at the time hahaha. I knew smoking weed was a terrible idea there. When you have unlimited booze it just isnt worth the risk.

when i went to mexico... i went with 6 people and we stayed in different hotels.

the guys from the other hotel came to our hotel and smoked a j in front of the hotel. When security came they booked it and me and my friend ended up gettin the heat. The funny thing is that we didnt even smoke any! But we did have pills in the room. And we didnt wana go to jail in mexico. So i ended up paying the security ****** 100$ US to not call the cops or kick us out of the hotel, which he was threatning us to do.

I HAtE MEXICO i have said it before and ill say it again !

Awesome!!!now we ll have less Americans and Canadians there, and more room to dance for me!!!:)

serioulsy tho,I ve been to Acapulco and I ve been to that club and I got into a fight for similar reasons,I dont drink nor do I do drugs. The problem is that most of the Americans and the Canadian kids that go there think it is some sort of orgy going on there and they can touch and grab any girls that walks by.I was with a friend and a group of girl friends there and had our own tables, next thing you know I see one of the girls literaly getting raped by some guy and the boucners didnt do ,I even told the bouncers to watchout for that guy and he is out of control,so they did nothing and they guy was keep harrasing her.so I went up to him grabed him and threw him out of the club myself.:p

Bottom line, people act in stupid down there, they think they can do what they like and they get pissed drunk,I mean this is common sense ffs have some control and dont just grab any girl that you see.

p.s. Iam still going to Mexico, clubs in Toronto are even worse.

I think Americans and Canadians need to be given more serious advisories and tips about being more careful in developing and 3rd world countries.

Your might be able to walk down the streets here feeling relatively safe but its not the same in a large part of the world.

Going to such places with a carefree attitude and getting drunk and macking on random chicks in countries known to have law enforcement issues is a fun plan but not a smart one.

!! TIP !! Don't go to foreign countries with tough guy, mack daddy attitudes that you might get away with in your home country. It might fly at the resort, but not with the locals, every day folk. Life doesn't mean much to people who have nothing too lose. You may be the MAN at home, but in many foreign countries (not only Mexico), not everyone is a like they are here in Canada. They would like nothing better than an excuse to show a foreigner the pearly gates.

This doesn't mean to be a sucker either, just be street smart and a bit more cautious than you'd be at home...and always remain friendly.

This kid didn't deserve to die... but you must be an idiot if you don't know by now that Mexico is corrupt. It's a 3rd world country... and like most 3rd world countries, corruption exists. Many people lose sight of that and forget because of it's proximity to the U.S./Canada...and because we all go there for vacation.

The bigger deal the media makes out of this the better. Mexico is highly dependent on north American tourism and if this incident makes people hesitant about traveling down there, it might just cut down on such incidents.

I remember reading someones stories around here about cops randomly picking up spring breakers and taking them to jail and extorting money out of them in exchange for their release. Some messed up indeed.

Atleast all thats done to tourists in India is our local guides showing them the taj mahal for 20 dollars when the price for locals is 40 cents.:p
