| spring break 2 years ago, one of those breakaway tours that goes to mexico, was nearing its end i think it was the final evening..there were stories about cops being corrupt like if they found you with a joint or had an exuse to book you, they would demand money, jewelery and so on...this story makes me sick to this day...so on the final night a couple were making out on some stairs leading up to a block of hotel rooms...the police arrive, they are threating the couple screaming at them and telling them all the bad things that is going to happen to each of them and so on, they take the girl to their car shes maybe 18 yrs old, and makes her perform oral sex on the both of them while her bf, or whoever he was sat cuffed on the stairs....wtf...like i said it still turns my stomach:mad: |

despite all the shadyness behind his story .. and the fact that there have been a number of other unsolved killings in the past 10 years yet ppl still continue to visit these ares, i truly wonder whether this will have any impact on the tourism industry there. And whether it'll apply any pressure on the Cdn government to act..

I think they have closed it since last year though :(
I don't know if I would go back again or not. I enjoyed my time there the first time around, and found the people to be kind and I felt safe. Maybe because I am a girl?? Hmmm... :conf: |

Woodbridge guys tend be very "brave" when it comes to fighting or approaching a girl at a club, i don't doubt that he did something serious for bouncers to him up like that. What i mean by that is that woodbridge guys don't know when to stfu. |

| After reading this whole thread, I definatly think I would cross Mexico off as a place I would want to visit. There are plenty of other countries with beautiful beaches that aren't as unsafe and scary as Mexico. If I ever went to Mexico, I don't think I'd be able to enjoy myself b/c I'd be constantly looking over my shoulder and watching what I said, or who I looked at the entire time. |

Word to the Wise....
Acapulco is not the place to picking fights....ya never know who knows who over there.
Dont pick fights. Stuff doesn't happen for no reason.
Although Mexican bouncers don't look like the typical Juice bouncers here in TORONTO, they won't think twice to throw you a beating on the way out. If you are being removed from a club, don't resist, just go....obviously not worth getting a beat down. My friend had a friend who gave a bouncer the finger in Baby O ... they waited for him outside and beat him down so bad, he has permanent eye damage.
Mexican bouncers do not like angry drunks.
Be nice to be treated nicely. Respect
Aca is a big place with a lots of people, its not just a sandy beach with blue water, so be careful. I've been drunk and done some stupid stuff...
I'll be flying down to Acapulco tommorow.I hope everything goes smooth while I'm down there.

It's pretty sad to see a young person die like that.
I really don't know if this is a coincidence, but the Canadian couple that was murdered in Mexico a while back was also from Woodbridge. Is there a connection between these two events, who knows. |

Yes I agree with you LisaLoo but just to clarify, Acapulco does NOT have any beautiful beaches. People never went to Acapulco for the beaches, just the weather. :-)

There's corruption everywhere (Canada's last prime minister lost last election due to the CORRUPTION scandals we all know about), so to say that there's no corruption in canada ... Well.... :rolleyes:
I have been to Mexico many, many, many times and never EVER have got in trouble. It's a very beautiful country with great people (and bad ones I'm sure), and yes, corruption is arguably more widespread than in Canada.. And so is poverty... :(
One thing I have noticed is that american and canadian tourists go to Mexico and GET SERIOUSLY INTOXICATED and BEHAVE LIKE JERKS, disrespecting people and authorities alike, just because THEY THINK THEY CAN. I belive that if you behave with RESPECT AND DECENCY, it will be a bit harder to get in trouble.
It's a shame what happened to this kid and it should have never happened, regardless of the circumstances.
Let's just remember to be respectful to others whether in Mexico or here in Toronto, and BE NICE TO OTHERS not matter what their appearance, sex, race, nationality, sexual orientation or whatnot... RESPECT IS A THING THAT SEEMS TO BE MISSING EVERYWHERE, AND THAT INCLUDES TORONTO AND CANADA. |
