Zut Alors!

"Zut alors!"
I really feel this is one of the most ridiculous exclamations ever (in almost ANY language). But it's such a wonderful, fun, and entertaining one, too!
Try saying it. I just used it randomly in a French convo I was having w/ The Highroller and I was taken back by how much fun it was to drop.
And the look your face can take on when you exclaim this really is comical if done correctly!
Try it next time you're in a serious (or sketchy!) conversation sometime. Wait until an individual makes some absurd statement and then just loudly (proudly!) shout: "Zut alors! [... and enter appropriate, relevant follow up comment(s) here...]"
Do not forget to maybe gasp for good measure before saying "Zut"! ... or bulge out your eye-balls as if you are in incredible shock. :D |

The ring to the word simply is not the same! It lacks a certain comical intensity that "Zut alors!" possesses! ;) |

I remember growing up as a kid in elementary school (I was in french immersion) that if something went wrong, or the teacher made a mistake, they would all say "ah zut..." or "zut alors..." and since we were young, we had no idea what they were talking about lol
I've had this discussion w/ my friends and they all can remember the teachers saying that when they were young too lol |
