yes

Then, isn't there the possibility that you did commit such act, and the wall is going to be there regardless of the other good things you did?

As far as I remember, only Catholics can confess all their sins and be freed from the consequences (in theory, as long as they truly regret their actions). And, if non-Catholics can be freed from hell by faith, wouldn't this faith end up being more important than touching yourself while looking at girls whose names end with .jpg? :conf:

edit:

This discussion reminds me of this:

Basically, you have to have a union with God before you work on your communion. Not knowing gravity exists doesnt mean you dont fall.

If you devote your life to TRYING to live a good life, and ask God to forgive you for what you know youve done, then youre fine.

However, I doubt many people here feel that Porn is a healthy part of a relationship and something God wants you to do. So I find the ignorance clause rather moot.

If I try and do happen to live a good life, and believe that in order to live a good life I shall not pay attention to him, would I be fine?

No, no, I was talking about minor sins in general (if there is such a thing as a minor sin). However, I only found out that having a wank touching myself in a self-erotic fashion was a sin years after I first began to do that - and I was raised in a Catholic environment. So, if I were to die and meet God back when I was 14, I would've committed this sin being unaware of its prohibition, so to speak.

Praise the Lord! He burns people for all time because they touch themselves in naughty places.

He is truly merciful and just.

Not to mention all-knowing and all-powerful master of the universe! Truly, ideals blindly supported by vapid followers regarding the sacrilegious curiosity of our very bodies are only an extension of some greater being's eternal wisdom. I am sure that He would want it this way, as these sorts of things are truly important in an immortal sense.

Oh come now, Jesus spoke all the time about how we should ask God for everything we ever needed rather than look within ourselves for the power to resolve our hatred and malcontent and find inner peace through striving to be individuals with a divine sense of compassion for our fellow man. I mean, that's all Jesus talked about is how we should be on our knees and in gold-plated halls built on the backs of the purposefully ignorant slave class that was kept beneath understanding by the bourgeoisie hierarchy of the institutionalized church.
