They all sound pretty dull and samey to me. If anything has been original and refreshing in recent times, it would be vibrasphere.

Vibrasphere is my arse refreshing, dull, typical over-played (and unimaginative i would add, since psy was 1000000 better in the 90s)) psy on a slower bit with no substance of any sorts. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

But i guess it would be okay if you discovered psy just now and you missed Transwave, Juno Reactor, UX, MFG, Prana and Etnica the first time round... (its around from 1992).

I must say that based on what I am hearing now - in clubs, new releases, and yes, even ASOT - I have to admit that era of great trance is once again upon us.

:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

I'm gladd if Armin plays 2 to 3 good tunes every week in ASOT. Most of the stuff he plays is nothing compared to older stuff, so I'm not buying the "that era of great trance is once again upon us"

Hehe. Give 'em a break. Most of these cats are finally getting out of their epic trance stage. Of course they'll have just discovered psy. ;)

I was a huge fan of all those classic producers in the 90s such as Shakta, Transwave, Total Eclipse, MFG, Eat Static, Zodiac Youth etc and I still consider Vibrasphere as refreshing. I've been following their caréer from day one and it's really interesting to see how they developed their sound. The Echo album is totally different from what they produce today. And no one with a sense of reason would call their stuff psychedelic today. It's more or less progressive trance with some small hints of psy from their earlier years.
At least it's miles better than anything I've heard from the epic trance arena.

Hmm, Aly & Fila? no... it's way to generic imo :/ I really loved their old tracks but now it seems they went Asotwhoring with Armin.. bleh.. it's not what it's supposed to be.. There are a few good tracks tho.. like their remix of Empty by Sassot

their old tracks are nothing special at all, they were saved by good remixes, but their new style is awesome imo!

+1

I have yet to hear anything similar to what they produce nowadays. It's really miles away from psy-trance.
