that's 'cuz they're both too old...well, 'cuz Rivera's confidence is deteriorating and Hoffman's too old. It's a shame. I used to love Trevor Hoffman...back in the days when they were in the playoffs and Hells Bells was actually an event.

I remember that made me think about whether I'd rather be a closer than a starter, just so I could come out to music :p

Month of April almost to the end...from what you've seen from the first month, who's your MLB Champion? I'm thinking it's the Mets' year. Best hitting ball club next to the Yanks, along with the best pitching staff, looking pretty good!
P.S. King Felix supposed to make his return start against the Yankees!!

the fact that the Sox took five of the first six from the Yanks thus far is really embarassing for Torre and the Yanks...

but

I like Halladay, Burnett and the Jays... again, I think I've been riding their bandwagon for two seasons now, and I can't quite give up on them...

John Maine makes me think he's kind of a big deal... so I'll go Mets in the NL...

King, am I allowed to jump on the Red Sox-bandwagon? Over here in Europe we have to watch Red Sox or Yankees 75% of the time, so I thought I take one of the team as my new favourite. :tongue2 :toocool: :p

Anyways, as for the champ, I really haven't watched enough games to make any sort of call yet. Been too soaked up in watching the Bulls lately :p

lol the Sox won in '05, but w/e we'll take credit.

Sucks for the Cubs. Their two biggest rivals have won the last two titles, preceded by the only team with a longer championship drought. :stongue:

'05 was also great 'cuz of the Illini basketball team, which basically got adopted by Chicago.

When was the last time the Devil Rays were in 2nd place in the AL East, or anywhere near that? :p

so, according to my calculations, Clemens is going to get about $10,000 per pitch he throws this year.

Welcome back Roger! I don't give a what all you whiners have to say, but this RIGHT HERE is going to turn the Yankees' season around. I'm not saying they'll win the World Series, but they are definitely going to contend now. Mussina is back and healthy, Petitte is reliable as always, Wang was unbelievable yesterday and I expect him to continue pitching well. Now mix in the Rocket, plus Hughes perhaps when he heals. Both Karstens and Rasner have both proven to be worth further looks too.

They still need another reliable arm in the bullpen but anybody who counts the Yankees out now is foolish.:D
