Ozzie Smith would never make it to the majors today.

only the pitchers are fat nowadays. Nothing wrong with being in shape, and it's happened in every other sport (most notably in golf recently).

well yeah, pitchers can always be fat.... like Joe Blanton, had no idea he was that big.... wow....

you're not going to see umm.... another Bob Hamelin running around anytime soon... i'm guessing Prince Fielder is probably the biggest guy, and he's probably a lot more muscle than it appears...

jose reyes would make this list too if you took away his speed. eckstein has terrific contact with the ball, and hudson is a up and comer.

:)

I beg to differ on all of them. I guarantee if Manny took off his shirt, he's fat. David Ortiz? Fat. They don't have good bodies.

On the same night, two of the greatest closers didn't even last a whole inning, and got pulled
Mariano Rivera pitched mop-up, but got slapped around by the BoSox again.
Trevor Hoffman was honored for having the saves record before the game, but then blew the save in the game later on, and gave up 4 runs. This was the night after he gave up a walk-off home run to blow the save for Jake Peavy's 16 K outing.
