Yay! Another chance to see Digweed at a club where I know the odds of me getting in are better than 0/1!

Why did Vision book Hac Le and Mike Khoury the week BEFORE Digweed?!
Hac won Digweed's "Next Big Thing" contest last year (over 2,000+ entries)...John already picked Hac to be his opener!!!
It doesn't make sense - especially for such a big night (in more ways than one)... |

He hasn't requested anyone in particular, what are you talking about...?
Regardless, Hac + Khoury and Luke will be one of the best nights here, can't wait!
p.s. - The Next Big Thing contest was 3 years ago in 2004. |

Agreed ! Hac should opened for Digweed as he handpicked him ....Maybe I will shoot John an email reminding him that Hac is from Chicago...It only makes sense!
Luke Fair is killer and Mike and Hac are going to turn some heads and do proper warm up set like they did on the Tikki boat for Desyn and Demi ... maybe Mike should be opening for Desyn when he is in town?
Since I have been frequent traveler to Chicago lately I have noticed that people don't seem to know how tow warm a DJ up..your not supposed bang it out and play hardcore stuff but get the crowd ready to go for the headliner ..God bless Hac and Mike for being amazing DJ's and knowing whats up.. |

Chicago has a great pool of locals that can do it properly you just haven't heard them, Khoury & Hac are definately some of Chi-town's finest, but this city as a whole has alot of great untapped talent. |

you sure you're from CA? :P I attended Armin @ Circus Hollywood and was very surprised when every opener banged it out. I asked some people about it and was told that in CA, that's how they do it, every dj plays a bangin' headlining set. I was like, ok. :conf: |

I don't doubt there is more great talent in Chicago...I know plenty of others in Chi-town that are great but opening up proper for a headlining DJ is big deal..matching the right people up with the right artist is all part of it...It says lot about the promoter/venue/a party ...the way they execute every aspect of well produced show.
I know AMP is doing some cool stuff bringing in smaller and more upcoming names and supplementing it.
I throw one offs in SF so I am pretty picky about who I book as we have lots of amazing labels and artist here to choose from as well... |

I'm with ya, ive been to many other cities, other clubs, etc. I have only ever heard a few times outside of the city when the local's have set it up properly.
and also, I don't think we have ever placed the wrong person for the wrong DJ or vice versa since well you know....things "transitioned" here in Chicago.... |

| not to get off-topic but just curious, how does the music scene in SF compare with LA? |

that is something we take seriously .. .because the last thing we want is an angry headliner... who then wont come back because some jack-ass opener felt like he had to prove something. It's happened a few tmes where someone has played to hard.. but for the most part our openers understand what position they are in (if they dont we wont be booking them again). |
