Everyone is supposed to be that responsible about what they eat. You should be counting too. |
I do eat relatively sensibly, 3 decent meals a day + a lot of fruit. I still think it's daft to count out stuff, as if an extra strawberry a day is going to bring the 'detox' process to a halt. |

I don't think the amount really matters, but since I am keeping a log, I figure I would count and measure my meals as well. It makes sense to me.

Day 8:
· 300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
· 40 grapes
· A lot of unsalted sunflower seeds
· 2 tblsp. of honey w/ chai tea
· 4 rice cakes
· 60 raisins
· 0.85 lb of mixed fruit (watermelon, melon (green and orange), black/blue/straw berries, pineapple)
· huge plate of veggies (red/green peppers, cucumber, celery, tomato, broccoli, carrots)
· 0.11 kg of cod fillet
· 1/4 lemon
· tonnes of water
· 300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
Observations: Cravings for salt are back. I am DYING for salt :( Seriously... feta cheese is all I can think about (that is laced with crack man!)
I called my granny today and let her know that I can't eat the easter dinner on Sunday :( I am going to bake some salmon and bring that with me instead. She said she would make be a baked potato on the side for me, and there will be some fresh veggies. I am REALLY wanting to quit my diet right now.
I woke up before my alarm today, and STAYED up. This has NEVER happened before, so that's a big deal. I am feeling a lot more energized. I am not burning out as badly as I was before.
I spoke too soon when I said all acne disappeared. I had a couple break-outs... however, to be fair, it is PMS week (btw, for those of you who don't understand what PMS is... it stands for *PRE* menstrual). :whip:
Urine, back to clear. Fecal matter... same. I am tired now, so off to bed. Goodnight. |

The cod made me wanna puke, so I didn't finish eating it.
Meh.. isn't there protein in my veggies? :p
When this detox is over, I am ordering a ing pizza with feta, and then going out and eating a cake.
LOL! |

There... I had loads of sunflower seeds today. |

Day 9:
· 300 mg of Iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
· "Arthur's Carrot Smoothie" (carrot juice, apple juice, banana puree, mango puree, passionfruit juice, beta-carotene, vitamin C)
· 0.75lb of mixed fruit
· lots of sunflower seeds
· 3 rice cakes
· 0.662 kg of mixed fruit
· 300 mg of Iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
Observations: Appetite = nill today. Not feeling too good. First day of menstrual cycle, so totally moody and crampy. For the first time EVER, I had a pimple on my back (toxins coming out through my skin?). Didn't feel bloated immediately before menstrual cycle started which is really unusual. Fecal matter becoming clay like, both in colour and in viscosity. Urine still clear.
Day 10:
· 300 mg of Iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
· "Arthur's Carrot Smoothie" (carrot juice, apple juice, banana puree, mango puree, passionfruit juice, beta-carotene, vitamin C)
· 3 rice cakes
· 70-80 raisins
· 3 handfuls of sunflower seeds
· 0.616 kg of mixed fruit
· 4 strawberries
· bowl of natural live yogurt
· 3 tablespoons of oats
· 2 tablespoons of honey
· 14 almonds
· 398 mL of organic soup (filtered water, organic split green peas, organic onions, organic celery, organic carrots, sea salt, organic basil, organic garlic, spices, organic black pepper)
· 300 mg of Iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
Observations: This morning I was feeling like rubbish, but after I napped, I felt a lot better. Fecal matter is grey. Urine is still clear. Skin is clearing up again, however I have been puting pure vitamin E straight onto the breakouts. Sleeping really well. Have clearly lost some weight. Skin and hair are both very soft.
I am obviously not recording when I am drinking all my water. Sometimes I write it down, other times I don't bother. Anyway, just assume that a lot of water is being consumed.
Grocery shopping with the boy this evening. Spent another $100 on groceries that should hopefully last me pretty much until the finish of this detox. In total, about $215 has been spent on groceries in the last two weeks, and that isn't including the random grocery pick ups I have made here and there. Healthy foods are ing pricey!
Cravings for salt are only when the temptation is immediate (when I smell feta cheese (I make greek salads at work), or when I see almonds with salt etc. Otherwise I am ok.
I did some more research and read the small amounts of sea salt were allowed, so I bought the organic soup with the sea salt. Very tasty, but REALLY expensive.
Feeling good in general. I stopped recording exactly when my exercise regimen has been, but I have been working out. Doing 30+ crunches each morning and evening, plus other various stuff.
Have been tempted to call it quits at the 2 week mark, but I am a stubborn little wanker sometimes, so I am going to push it until I get my full three weeks. I am half way there :) YAY!! |

With any luck your low salt, lack of saturated fats and sugars arse will come to some kind of realisation and appreciation of just how old, tired and awful they make you feel, look and behave.
You might not think much of it as you're still quite young, start sliding down towards 30 though and you'll wish it more than most anything to have your health and looks back. |

I've already felt a huge difference. I am sleeping better, I feel more alert, my mind is clearer, my skin and hair are both softer... etc. etc.
It is true that the massive amount of crap we eat makes a huge difference in how we feel. I mean, my diet was pretty impressive before I started to detox, and I am STILL feeling the difference. Imagine how someone who eats complete garbage all the time would feel? People don't seem to realize how pivotal their eating habits are in regard to their overall health and the way the feel and operate. |

Same way they look, crap usually :p
Glad you're getting something out of it physically as well as a bit of a placebo effect in there as well most likely. I don't reckon you'll go back to old naughty habits :) |
