How clean on the inside do you need to be though? I think it's going too far when you're counting out the number of strawberries and spoons of oats that you are eating... |
Well then don't do it. I, on the other hand, will continue to do so :)

If you want to be irresponsible about the you put in your mouth then so be it. I count and measure everything I eat. |

| I was talking to my mom about this over supper tonight and she says, good job. She told me it was something everyone should do once in a while......so then I ordered chocolate cake. |

What evidence is there that such a regimen will "cleanse" one's body in any significant way?
Normal, healthily functioning bodies eliminate waste (unneeded and possibly hazardous stuff) every day without the need for special diets. |

I'm pretty responsible to a certain extent, I mean I eat the suggested servings of everything I am supposed to. I don't know very many people who measure EXACTLY 3 tbl spoons of whatever it is they are eating, it's a little ridiculous to me, that's all. I have a healthy serving of what ever it is I am eating but I don't go over board. |

I suppose there is no physcial evidence that I could produce, however there have been a lot of studies that say detoxification is healthy for the body.

Anyway, whether it will cleanse me or not, it is still a healthy diet to lock myself into. |

| Eating salads also cleanses your body. |

Which is why vegetables are high on the list of foods I am allowed to have.
P.S. Eating one salad every few days doesn't cleanse the body, especially when you are eating it with mcdonalds, or some other crap. |

Actually it does cleanse the body if eaten that much. The nurtrients in the salad are good for your body.
...and when I eat them I eat them alone with a little bit of chicken on top (sometimes). |

I see. The article does not link to any studies, although it does link to a "quack watch" site disputing the claims made in favor of "detox" diets.
Anyway, the diet you adopted seems to have nothing obvious wrong with it, so I suppose the whole thing is a harmless diversion at worst.
[As far as "acne cures" (mentioned in the Wikipedia article) go, I have found the most effective remedy to be very intense exercise like sprints or weightlifting. For some reason I have clear skin if I do these regularly, although I have no idea how that might work.] |
