I think it's funny that the Middle East is hating the West for forcing "Western influence" on them when they are using and loving our CARS, COMPUTERS and PLANES and other electronic devices invented from the West. Lemme tell ya if someone gave me all those things in my ty little country I would love them, even if they were Jews.
I always thought they were going through the crusades phase. |
Ever thought that maybe that western influence is about something OTHER than just consumer goods/technological advancements? |

Yes, but if they don't like the political climate that the West is imposing on them, then why don't they say that instead of generalizating that anything from the West is evil and unislamic? I mean seriously, if I really hated Apple for their computers because their philosophy and computers were trying to change my lifestyle, it'd be pretty silly of me to go to the gym with an ipod everyday. |

I'm with Orbax and BTG on this one, but lets not forget the real problem in the middle east. Zionist Jews.
Nuke the Arabs, Persians and the assorted zionists and you take care of a whole mess of problems.
It will also show the radical Christian right that low and behold, its not some holy land that blah blah blah has to happen to for Jesus to come to earth again and all that hoobajooba. Its just a ty desert that happens to have oil. |

It might be on some levels, but in the end capitalism is based on the exploitation of new markets, and we are atm the reigning kings of capitalism... that is till China gets into full gear.
Kinda sad that the US will be beat at its own game by a socialist/communist state. :p |

Really? Because if you get rid of Islam you don't have a problem either. Maybe the two just shouldn't mix, ever.

Sorta like chemotherapy...just kill everything a little bit with good intentions that the worst parts will die out. |

You get rid of one, some third party group will come to the aide of the other saying "blah blah blah, look what the jew/muslims did to the muslims/jews"
Take out both parties and no one can defend any of them because they are both gone (but then I guess someone could go look what party xxx did to the jews and muslims!). But hopefully sane people will see that its better off this way.
And yea, it is like chemo, sometimes you have to poison the body (the earth) to heal it.
Really though, it would be easiest just to disolve Israel and make it an international zone under the UN. It has too many important places to too many different groups, putting one in charge is just asking for trouble. |

The middle east is an excellent reason as to why there should be a very definite division of church and state within every country.
Letting people's interpretations on religion decide the lives of innocent people is reason enough to hate any country. It just so happens that many middle eastern countries appear to be focused on this form of 'justice'. :/ |
precisely. it is fundamentally wrong to enforce your particular religious beliefs upon other people. but you cant reason with the zealot.
think about it- murder is arguably the very worst crime you can commit. so how are those acting "immorally" actually causing more harm than those that decided to murder them for it?
just another example in a long ing list of how religion poisons our world.
the answer is the continued influence of western popular culture & prosperity. when people have more to care about than their family or what god is saying, when they have stable forms of employment and democratic governments, things will begin to change.
and i have no doubt that the marginalisation of women is part of the cause for such violence in the middle east. too much testosterone holding too much power. |

By the same logic, one could argue that we should kill all the Christians, Jews, and Atheists and let the Muslims live in peace. Or kill all the Muslims and Christians and let the Jews live in peace. Or kill all the communists and Democrats and let the libertarians live in peace... wait, where were we going with this?
