How does the Guv get away with this every time?

Okay, so I'm reading the reviews for AVB and every third post said something like, "Armin was great, played so many good tracks but it was too crowded."

Let see, Stereo gets busted in Montreal and 400 ppl get turned back from Bal en Blanc due to fire marshalls turning up after the NYE Resolution overcrowding.. yet the Guv consistently overcrowds every headliner weekend, regardless of the obvious fire hazard.. not to mention the massive buzzkill it is for many. I've been ranting about this for months (:p) but no one seems to do anything about it (ie complaining to managment, or, more drastically, tipping off the cops). Btw, I've been to the Guv so I know what I'm talking about.

yeah, that's what I alluded to before in another thread. Could be meth donuts or something too.

overcrowding + sketch = disaster. I noticed there were potential fights too, something you'd almost never expect in Plurland Totaville :p

Overall...i don't htink it was that overally packed...like there were quite a few pockets in the back in some places where there was tons of room!

It's just that everyone wants to get up close and moves through the crowd and pushing and shoving and that kind of crap.

Yesterday was definitely not as packed as I've seen in the past.

And yes...Bribes...I've seen cops who are the front receive envelopes or packages from asian ppl before being let in to guv...

I dunno about you but who wants to pay $50 to be stuck in a corner of a club?

If you actually saw this happen these have to be rookie/n00b cops taking the payoffs. A seasoned veteran would never let anyone see him taking a payoff, way too much at stake. At least that's what I think.

All it takes is one fire or something and so much would hit the fan, so many ppl would be implicated in this. There's other clubs in TO that do the same too *cough* Republik *cough*

I got there last night around 2:45 and left by 3:30. It was exactly what I expected, very crowded, very pushy, very hot. I just wasn't in the mood to deal with it last night so I left and I am not complaining about the situation. Anyone who has ever been to Guv on a big party night knows this is what it is going to be like. Don't get mad, act shocked, complain about it because you knew it was going to be like that.

Everything you mentioned about Stereo has only happened in the last month and has a lot to do with the new fire chief. I have been to Stereo and have seen it just as packed as Guv. BEB a couple weeks back was no different than Guv last night.

It is what it is at The Guvernment. Know that going into any event and decide if you want to deal with it.

Yesterday wasn't really overcrowded, only at the front by the DJ booth, the back and the sides where the couches are had plenty of space. But I do know what you're talking about when you meant overcrowded (above & beyond, NYE, etc.) Let's hope the new Guvernment added more room, or something.

see, that's the thing. Do you really have to expect that? As ticket buyers, you guys have more say than you think. All it takes is a phone call to the right authorities or a letter to the Toronto Star :p

perhaps we need bigger rooms to handle big headliners!! like merge KH and Guv. lol

If it was so easy, someone would've done it already, there's probably more behind the scenes that we don't know about.
