I have been playing on turntables for 15 years and just decided to go with CD mixers instead. I can't believe how good Rane Scratch and CDJ's work together. I should have dumped the turntables long ago.
If you are someone that uses Rane Scratch and CDJ's I would love to hear what you think about that combination. What are you favorite features/tricks?
Thanks in advance! |

| Just curious why you didn't just keep the TTs and go with SSL. |

| i think he is talking about SSL being controlled by CDJs. It is a pretty dope combination. |

the few time i played with it on cdjs i really dint enjoy it as much as with regular cds.
for 1, the cue and play button pretty much dont work because there is a nasty delay
also, the looping on the 800 is rendered useless, u cant loop 4 beats on a control record, cuz it has no beats |

Serato and CDJ's are awsome together. I use mine with 800mk2's.
You can still loop in serato.

I have heard other people say there is a delay using CDJ's and SSL but I'm not experiencing that. The response times have been no issue what so ever. I wonder if the SSL setup you were playing on was set up correctly? |

| i don't like the fact that you have to set the timecoded track back to the beginning to play the next track.. the first time i used SSL with CDJ800s i kept forgetting to do that, and then i'd wonder why some tracks wouldn't load.. however i loved using SSL and it's frickin SICK with a rane ttm57SL. excellent mixer. |

It's a nice mixer, but the fact that it's only 2 channel and has little more to it than SSL really, really pisses me off, - and for that kind of money, I think it's a waste. |

Indeed, I never really understood the appeal of using CDJs with Serato. With vinyl it's obvious, but with CDJs, why not just burn CDs? I'd much rather take a bag of re-burnable CDRs with me to a club than an expensive laptop. |
