Oh, and Emerson to Milan, which means their squad now has an average age of 47.

which is no problem because they have the right "stuff" that keeps their legs fresh.

+2 for La Liga, -1 for Premier League (imho). I just have no idea what Real's starting 11 would look like now. We'll see on Saturday.

Casillas

Sergio Ramos - Cannavaro - Pepe - Heinze(Drenthe)

Gago(Diarra)

Robben - Sneijder(Guti) - Robinho

Raul(Higuain) - Van Nistelrooy(Saviola)

Something like this? It's a very attacking lineup but they have a lot of forwards in the team.

Yeah, I imagined the same thing, but Schuster is unpredictable. Looks good on paper, and the squad depth is there, so I wonder if that will help give them push for the title in the long-run against Barca (who has less players, but more quality/experience in those few). Of course, we can't count Sevilla out either, and Valencia will probably face a battle for 4th with Zaragoza (if they can keep Diego Milito).

Im dont think Madrid is planning to bench Drenthe... I have been trying to figure out how the hell they would play all the signings in the same squad and the best I could come up with is

.......................Casillas...................

S. Ramos......Pepe............Cannavaro......Heinze

......................Diarra.......................

............Sneijder............Drenthe............

....Robinho.........................Robben.........

.................Van Nistelrooy....................

Thats if they have the balls to bench Raul which I doubt...

Good signings imo

Robben is a brilliant player, Heinze isn't very good at attacking, but since the rest of the entire team is already assigned to attacking, having a fullback which is very strong in defensive tasks helps.

what does everyone think of Yakubu going to the (to quote Rafa Benitez) "small club" Everton for 11 something million pounds? And then Fernandes snubs a 12 million pound bid...interesting.

In my opinion, it's nice to see someone other than the big four land a big player like Yakubu. Everton is an historic club and have been meddling in mediocrity for far too long.

He just happens to quietly score a bucketload of goals every year it seems.

Everton had their chance at greatness when they finished 4th few years ago...
