hey there, little one. i like to include positivity in my life every now and then, but one thing i'm pretty positive about right now is that you are a ****. (for your daft mind, it rhymes with stunt, but leave the "st" out and add a "c" instead)

:) here's a smiley face for you!

but i don't live in a gingerbread house. i live in a french bread house on alfredo street where there is unlimited pasta. it's great for pasta lovers.

precisely.

if i havent made it clear in earlier posts, i ll make it clear now
it isnt whether he s making money out of it, it isnt whether the label is making money out of it (if in fact there is a label)

it is the fact that he being a musician spends his time and energy on a classic and then comes up with this ridiculous pile of . it is the principles of the remixer (durand in this case), the label (if one releases it) , of any dj;s who play it and lastly the audience who in some way or another appreciates it.

i repeat.
precisely.

lol @ you always loling at people taking other comments "seriously". i will always respond to a post that addresses me in a juvenile way.

i'm not in his internet clique he might have so i don't get the "internet jokes" he may think i get.

as for taking him "seriously", he's not important for me to take very seriously. after all, he is quick to insult someone on the internet when there is an opposing post so i know right off the bat he must not be very mature.

and i suppose you are now loling at me taking you "seriously".

There's an easier way to write cunt, also.

i've never heard the original. From the sample, which is pretty short, it sounds like an above average tech trance song, better than most of what i've heard from durand. (Besides Sunhump 06 which was amazing.)

But yeah whats with Tyas and Durand remixing all of these old songs, this is gay. And the Mike Foyle Remix of radiohead was pretty decent, IMO, I don't know why we're comparing Tyas / Durand's remixes to that

eeh no they aren't. first of all there isn't much money flowing in the scene in the first place, you would have to sell A LOT and to be on many compilations to actually make something that could replace your job. and even then you would have to do that monthly. most producers who don't have a regular day job, make a living through deejaying, not producing.

and what comes to bootlegs, 99% of these aren't released. which means the producers get absolutely no money for it. and even if it would get a white label release in most of the cases selling out the entire press will just cover the expenses.

what i think is the reason why these guys (tyas and durand) are doing these remixes is:
a) publicity

a remix of a famous track is noticed a lot more easier (in forums and clubs) than a remix of an unknown track (or own new track). in a club these remixes usually get a huge response right away, when new or unknown tracks might need a 1-2 listens before you get it.

b) exclussive tracks to their set

most trance deejays tend to play a lot of the same material, so it's hard to stand out. having exclussive tracks like this to play in your sets are a one way to do it.

c) cause they want to

maybe they like the original so much, that they wanted to try doing something to it. sometimes you just recreate famous melodies and play around just for fun and now and then something worthy comes from them and you decide not to trash them. i'm sure mr. durand doesn't think this remix is :)

quite a small clip, but doesn't sound good at all based on that. original is just huge so it's really hard to top it, or to make it even half as good. wouldn't wanna remix tracks like this..

so what about other durand productions:
sunhump remix - i think was really good, still his best production

the fall remix - not that i'm a big fan of tech anymore, but it really killed the mood of the beautiful original. again a track that is really hard to make better.

tiesto tracks - only heard these twice or so, but sounded pretty decent. nothing beats orkidea remix of flight 643, but if i recall right both of these were pretty enjoyable.

toca me (well toca's miracle) - horrible, just horrible, quite a chaos to me, and the pluck seems to go really wrong..

smack my bitch up - yet again a track that's still so awesome, you might wanna stay away from it. well durand has tryied but unfortunatly it doesn't compare to the original at all, everything that is good in the remix is because the parts from the original.

Making music.

this f##king track didnt need remixing! the original does not sound dated, has perfect production and still rocks the crowd no matter what genre set its thrown into.

why is this guy ruining prodigy and chemical bro's tracks??? - and turning them into generic boring trance arranged tunes!
