it was the first time in 1015 that the "regular FIGHT scene" actually affected me... couple of guys got in a brawl and my girlfriend was in the receiving end of it... to sum it up she's a lil girl and she flew halfway across the dance floor... :( :( :(
PROPS to da bouncers of 1015... i could not even saw who was fighting, a millisecond after my gf got bumped... those guys were out the door!!! my God... this is the best bouncer crew in da nation!!!
anyways, other than that... i had a great time, finally met more TA's, and hung out in the green room for the first time... thanks to all those responsible... Blurr.. i didnt know if u remember which one is me, i high fived u but forgot to tell u im mecca the psy dude... anyways! Blurr did a good opening set, ready up for Tyas kinda thing set...
Tyas.. he's regular i think... imo, he's a better producer than he's a dj!! the tracks were solid trance tracks, pure trance i shall say with a lil more energy than dutchies... anyways, since im all into psy now sometimes i miss those trance takes me back to my younger dayz... |

Dinner at Gordon Biersch could not be more perfect! Food was delicious and very filling. I think none of us were able to finish our hamburgers except for Andrieux who finished it up in a few seconds :haha: Since I skipped lunch, I was on a empty stomach and the light weight that I am, the first long island pretty much had me buzzing already haha It was great having new people at dinner including Kyo & his friends, Charlie (who thought it was my bday and brought me Stetson cologne), Christine, Dyloot and Sean Tyas himself! To no ones surprise, Blurr flaked out again :p That taxi hit and run during dinner was so many laughs too! crazy randominess  Lexxx covered my food and drinks so I payed for someone else's dinner. karma+++ :)

We all got into 1015 without any problems but again the hip hop room was boring us. Once the main room opened, Andrieux rushed in even pushing security Taz(?) who yelled "CAN YOU WAIT A SECOND!" but Matt was gone already haha
Blurr's set was odd (house/80s and did I hear freestyle too? :wtf: ) and not to my liking at least the first part and this night. Second part wasn't to bad but I was out of it already and just waiting for Tyas to get on.
Tyas started off a bit slow but picked up quickly especially when he started recording. There was never a dull moment during his set for me. Tyas is just so energetic and such an awesome person. Can't wait to hear "Live as" and will go through my videos some time this week. When is it getting released? Maybe Sean can have a release party at 1015 and w/ kyro this time! :D
Dirty was good as always! :D but I took off early w/ Tyas to chill with him and others at his hotel. Was really cool talking to Tyas and found out we have the similar views on certian DJs and taste in EDM.
Vahid and Andy Slate were doing great upstairs too. I did forget to check back on Asian breaks in the basement though.
DaveT tried his best at handling the booth but just about everyone in the club was part of Tyas entourage haha Dave did good job though as I had a friend tell me "I HATE THAT GUY!", that guy being Dave :( :p
I didn't notice any fights and I was walking around most of the time because it was so hot and packed in the DJ booth. Although I did have a drink with me at all times but didn't get faced. Hope Mari is ok :)
Shawn (and Karina) are back from Spain! Shawn told me this hilarious story about Karina during running of the bulls :haha: Hope she posts pictures and maybe even write something up on her myspace.
ok time for lunch! |

I don't know if I'll ever control the green room again. At least for free! It was a bit of nightmare last night. Actually, it was more than a bit. People just don't listen sometimes! The TA's were cool, it was everyone else. Even Taz (security) was about to go insane because everyone would sit there and argue over how they should be in there.

FRICKIN PEOPLE!!! Dave i thank you for the help. Next time we will work it out correctly.
PEOPLE IF YOU DISRESPECT THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT THEN YOU WILL RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE!!!
MEANING THAT THERE WILL NO LONGER BE A "VIP GREEN ROOM" AVAILABLE... :nervous:
What took place in my absence this past Sat night WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN AS LONG AS I AM @ 1015!!! :whip: |

Taj -
can you explain the situation with the sound system.. I noticed Dave mention something about the sound ordinances..
is there such ordinance set for 1015? I am truly worried if this is true because I love 1015 but when the music is turn on too low.. lower than my house, I would much rather not make the 45 mile drive to the club.. For the most part I go to 1015 for the music not much of a talker.. |

Unfortunately im not able to give out to much info on this. But i will say there are processes in place as we speak to help fix the problem. Please be patient & understanding while these processes take place. Dealing with the proper channels can take some time.
Its amazing that people will move next door to a club (anyewhere in the world) & then think they have the absolute right to complain.
I cant believe that these idiots arent concentrating there pathetic complaints towards all the CRACK/DRUG USE & VIOLENCE that takes place 2 blocks up from the club & in there own neighborhood...F*%KIN JACKASSES!! |

LOL, I couldn’t get out of the hip hop room any faster!!! I didn’t hear what he said because I probably was halfway across the main floor already.

I really enjoyed your opener. Loved Thrillseekers/Aruna - Waiting Here for You to start things off. Definitely eclectic mix of tracks, including the Fire/Sweet Dreams mash up :eyes: I liked it! :D But my favorite song of the night of your opener is of course Aven-All I Wanna Do (Ferry Corsten Remix) :eyespop: Couldn’t believe that one came out of the bag! Didn’t think I was going to hear that track until I saw Ferry again :D Good stuff!
Sean’s set was dope! Very energetic and nicely woven together for his CD. I wish the main floor volume was turned up because his kicking basslines would have been a lot more impactful to everyone going NUTS on the main floor. Hell of a nice guy too. Will definitely be waiting for his LIVE AT… cd to be released.
DIRTYHERTZ definitely took care of Taj’s absence. BANGERS!!! :eyespop:  :eyespop:  :eyespop:  :eyespop: I wish I could have stayed longer but had to get back to Sacramento for in the morning. Cant wait for DIRTY AND TAJ’S NASTY HOUSE SETS THIS SUNDAY MORNING!!! :whip:
As always the TAs are the best. So many funny moments and good times throughout the night.
Better luck next time Matt and Rich, LOL :stongue: At least the bubbler was delicious  |

I'm glad you touched on this at least a little bit Taj. I was going to write this up in the complaints thread because I noticed the past few times I've been to 1015 the sound is severely lacking. I figure money towards sound proofing would be the most appropriate change at this point. On the flipside I couldn't agree more, who the hell builds condos and moves in next door to a club and doesn't expect noise?!
1015 without the organ moving bass just isn't 1015, hehe. |

| on the cheaper end of the spectrum, 1015 could dress the main room in heavy curtains to absorb the bass and enhance overall acoustics. on the expensive side they can insulate the walls more densely, paint a layer of tar on the walls and attach acoustic panels (not cheap). either way, it's gonna cost money to do it right, but it's entirely possible to restore 1015's heavy, rich sound without the neighbors being aware of what's goin on inside. when rizo and i took a walk around the main room with his spl meter a few months back, the levels could have been wound down to 120db and probably sounded better than it was. i think 120+ is too loud even though most clubs love to teeter in the 125+ range. |

The city is cracking down on clubs where there are sound complaints. Anyone know the status of Club Six? Last I heard it was going to close because it was still like 5db over the limit after they spent ike $200,000+ on sound proofing the place.
I know of other clubs who the city is hassling, too.
Back to the green room, in the end everything was kept in check. Just some people think they have the right to be in the booth, and don't see it as a privilege that you can get one night and not the next. Yeah, I personally get a lot of access...and yeah, sometime I even have to ask about it (cause it never hurts to), but I just about always say to whoever I am asking that they can so no. Never have any hard feelings and never hassle about it. And I've been told no before. Even at Spundae events. Sometimes it's just how things are.
Just because you know someone at the club, or know someone in the booth does not give you any right just to barge in. Feel free to come up and inquire at the door, but if you are told you can't come in without a wristband or at the very least w/o expressed permission, don't even bother arguing back. It's not going to help your cause.
One thing I caught a few times were people swapping wristbands when they would go down on the floor so their friend could come in. NOT COOL.
Ten15 needs to get designed wristbands like Ruby. I caught two people who tried to get in with wristbands of their own. If I didn't recognize a person or know how they got their wristband, I would straight up ask them where they got it and maybe even take a look at it. Totally busted two dudes trying to get in with wristbands that were the same color as the ones handed out, though the end of them (the sticky part) was different and because of that it was easy to bust them.
Yay Sean for bringing an entourage. :-p Big thanks to Robert for helping me work that out. Oi!
If someone says you need a wristband as you enter w/o realizing who you are (maybe because whoever is running the booth never got a good look at you), do not be disrespectul in return and all snappy. UGH. No hard feelings over that incident, though. :p
For god's sake, do not do light shows in the booth. At least around me. I just see it as giving a bad perception about the club. The way I see it is that if you are given extra access, it's your responsibility to be respectful to the venue. What if some cop decided to take a stroll through the place (with the venue's permission) and walked in on that. How would that reflect on the venue. Maybe others are OK with it, but to me it's not cool.
If you have a wristband and are asked not to come in, just be patient. This is done when the booth gets too crowded/chaotic. It's not because you aren't wanted up there. It's just a matter of keeping things in check overall.
Oh jesus please paint the booth walls black again. Or maybe grey. The white walls are just weird, lol.
Next time if I do it again, I think I might be a bitch and print out a set of rules and post them on the doors (bringing multiple copies cause it's bound to get ripped down) to make the rules on if it's OK to just walk into the booth loud and clear.
Haha.
Wheeeeeeeeee......
It was a fun night overall, though. Guess that's what's important. |

Rich is talking about these results: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...678#post7868404 -- Average was 116dbish and peak was 120db through out the night.
Dave I know what you mean about access. For one+one everyone was pushing me to get on stage especially Frank. Just because I have a camera I know it doesnt give me the right. I asked Guiv early on and he said no due to Nic/James not wanting many on stage so that was that. Later after Nic was done w/ the first part of his set, I was able to grab his attention and he went to the side to take a picture w/ me thats when I asked him for stage access which he was happy to give me. Nic didn't know where to get an extra wristband from but you and Scott's girl let security know I was ok.
Also I like the white wall in the booth but its going to get dirty fast! |
