It's winter here now, and the winter chill has hit us. So the daytime temp is about 21 degrees celcius (approx 70 degrees farenheit). |

It's actually very surprising. In India, I was used to living in heat well over 95 F with very high humidity. And there, houses are not even air conditioned. But now I can't stand 80-85 F. It's crazy. |
civilization? :o |

| quote: | | The term (British English also civilisation) has a variety of meanings related to human society. Most often it is used to refer to "complex" societies: those that practice intensive agriculture; have a significant division of labour; and have population densities sufficient to form cities. "Civilization" may be used more broadly to refer to the sum, or current extent, of human accomplishment and spread (human civilization or global civilization)wikipedia . |
In America, air conditioners are not a luxury but a necessity. It's a fast paced country where you gotta be productive at all times. Hence, by having air conditioners people are able to do what they have to, without worrying about the heat which in summer would slow everything down. :) |

I fail to see the relation between civilization and acclimatization |

| If people didn't get used to air conditioning in the first place, they wouldn't be so intolerant of slight temperature changes. |

| That's because we don't need a big mac break on the hour of every hour and don't have to keep getting up to turn the bloody air conditioning up a bit more. |
