Man I'm so glad I sprung for VIP... longest time I waited for a drink was maybe 2 minutes; I stood in line to get in EDC for maybe 20 seconds. Overall the vibe was great. Good fun and sooooo much better that the NOS event center. Staff was quite friendly too. Wasn't too impressed with the 30 minutes or so I heard from Desyn (part of the beginning and ending). I did find myself spend a surprising amount of time in the house section. JOOF and IM rocked as usual.

, I probably should've went to see her. Somehow I had a feeling she'd be great... I loved her set back in February (at Knitting Factory).

had to make a last-second trip to vegas this weekend so i couldn't go to EDC....

reading about Oakie sucking at EDC....I was told that he got pulled off the decks on friday nite at Body English as he crowd didn't like what he was playing. Then they asked him not to even bother showing up for Rehab yesterday which he was supposed to play too.

Yeah, I was surprised too! I hadn't heard very good things about her, but I really enjoyed her set. Umm I was a bit out of it at that time, but the 2 songs I remember are:
Three Drivers - Greece 2000 (some remix - DJ Shog maybe?)
Robbie Rivera -- Float Away

As for the rest of edc, I had a lot of fun. I loved the venue and dancing with my friends, but I thought that the crowd as a whole was pretty rude. The last rave I went to was Popsicle in San Francisco and it’s crazy how much nicer and considerate people are in SF than LA (That's just my opinion of course, and I’m sure lots of people would disagree).

I love love loved Hernan!! I thought his set was pretty much mind-blowing…so much energy, great mixing (from what I could tell), and amazing tracks. He was such a tease right before he would drop some crazy beat and I loved it!

Oakenfold: I expected him to suck... and he did.... a lot. Regardless of his poor mixing skills, I didn’t even think that his tracklist was good at all. I knew most of the songs he played, so I had fun dancing to them, but his track selection was definitely not very interesting or new. I’ve heard DJs play the tracks that he chose (like nic chagall-what you need etc) for the past several months and I think even Oakie could have stepped it up a bit.

I really liked Deep Dish, pretty much what I had expected from them but still really good. I had great hopes for A & B, and they definitely exceeded my expectations. I wish they had played Good For Me, because I’ve always wanted to hear that song while I’m rollin, but I still really enjoyed their set.

I didn’t get to see Joof or Infected Mushroom, which I was a bit bummed about, but all in all I had a good time. What did everyone think of Joof??

JOOF ---- set was sick. I only got to catch the last 30 minutes of it, but I was impressed.
Oakenfold --- it was ok. he played some good tracks, but he was train wrecking left and right.
Infected Mushroom ---- favorite set of the night. I danced my ass off. I swear I have brain damage from head banging so hard.
Above & Beyond ----- Great set of tracks. I loved that they dropped some oceanlab songs too. Sadly I was burnt out from infected mushroom, but I still tried my best to keep the energy flowing. I was sitting on the bleachers for the beginning of the set, and the crowd looked so crazy cause of all the 1000s of random flashing lights coming from everyone. I wasnt even rolling, and I just staring at all the lights for so long. Can't wait to see A&B again when they tour the U.S. again.

Somehow I think 40000 is an over estimate. I mean there were a load of people, but 40K? nooo

An official headcount from Insomniac?

cokenfold was an embarrasement, how many more of these mega gigs is this guy going to continue to get due to his legendary status. He is aweful. Surprisingly, I though deep dish was bad too. Every track they played seem to follow the exact same pattern of breaking down for like 7 minutes, then when it came time to build it up, it let me down every time.

Hernan Catteneo was flawless and had an excellent track selection. And of course JOOF coming in from Desiyn brought some solid prog, and left it banging as IM came on, really the only music I enjoyed all night came from JOOF and Hernan.

Way to many people, kids, lines, walking up stairs....just another reminder why I dont ever go to these things, just time to time i forget and get dragged out.
Should have gone to Ferry!
