Im from america so im mostly talking about american culture(i know trance/Electronica is more mainstream in europe).

When i say mainstream i mean MTV mainstream,Style Mainstream. I cant even figure out how Hip Hop/Rap is Favored in the mainstream its not music to me. Well heres the question. when will trance become mainstream in america?

The answer is never. Judging by the way you write you seem to be fairly new to edm, no disrespect. But if by "trance" you mean real trance, it simply wont happen, pop music will always be on top, simply because its pop, pop rock, pop pop, cheese, and pop hip hop. Trance or any decent form of edm is just too consistent and not many people understand it, one reason why I love edm so much is because the people that listen to it, love it not because its in the radio but because its a genuine passion. NOW if you mean cascada, or ian van dahl or any cheesy euro pop garbage, I wouldn't be surprise if its the new thing in a couple of years. Thats when you bite harder and go underground. Thats what I would do if it happened.

Well Im not much older than you, just turned 16, but I know how it is, when I got into edm I thought the same way, but then as you go deeper into the music you start to realize that it doesnt matter if your friends like it or not and you start to meet people that do. And that there is a lot more people that like it than you think, you just dont know it. relax you're still in the armin phase.

The answer to your question is when the average IQ isn't 100.

It has no selling point to the masses. It doesn't really have lyrics with any meaningful point (seriously, name me one great tune with meaningful lyrics) and the majority of society isn't willing to stay at a concert that is more than two hours.

Never has been mainstream, never will. Ever.
