In the meantime, let me know if you ever want to see Wintergalactic happen again. Because to be quite honest, it's no skin off my back to never throw another event again. Actually, it'll be less headaches! :D
peace to the mod squad.

hmmm, lemme check my "to do" list before I die.
1. Do laundry
2. Experience a "Sonic State" event
3. Put on a new pair of socks
...yes, I think I want to be at a Wintergalactic event, or at least a State 02... ;) |

Someone posted earlier about using a credit card to pay for tickets. That's the best idea these days if you have that option.
Even if you dont have a credit card, you can still buy tickets at tripledecks.com by sending in a money order.
These guys also don't pay promoters until after the event (other stores should do that too), so your money is always safe in case of an event cacellation, and you're guaranteed to get a refund.
TripleDecks.com also offers refunds if you can't make it to the event, which other stores don't do. |

Such a great choon!
Look, I haven't really been following all of the drama thats been going on in Toronto and I've sort of counted my losses and moved on..
However, this whole ticket refund drama is just as much the record stores fault as anybody elses...
Here is a sample copy of a contract I use that prevents this situation from ever happening! And this is a very common practice for just about every record store I know of from Boston to Atlanta... I suguest toronto take a cue on professionalism.

4.It is the responsibility and liability of the promoter to meet with the ticket outlet to pick up any unused tickets and ticket sale proceeds within 2 weeks after the event. Or if we can’t get to the store send a UPS call tag for pick-up
5.There will be a $ ____ charge off the face value of the ticket charged to the promoter and a $____ charge added as a service charge to the customer that will go to the ticket outlet.

I really really hate to bring this thread to the forefront again, but it's hard not to. Andre, I took your challenge to write to your email address to "straighten out" things, but all you did is give me a quick one line "i can't write more now" reply, and no more in two weeks. Meanwhile, the outlets (Eastern Bloc) still say you owe them money and that they can't get a hold of you. I'm sorry, but you really have no credibility left at all. If I were you, I would take Nick's lead and leave town, cuz if I don't hear from you within 48 hours regarding how you're going to refund people's money, or what exactly happened to the money, I will take action. If part of the money was spent on preparations, then give people a partial refund.
This is not a threat, just a warning. Don't get it wrong, my time is more valuable than the money I lost, but I don't think you should get away with pulling a scam (and it's getting really difficult to think of this as anything but, so prove me wrong) like this on the community. |

| I'm in support of Arcticboy. It is unlikely that any of the money not refunded will be gained back from this, but at least justice has a better chance of being served. I only bought a pair of tickets, so the loss wasn't too great. But for those that bought multiple tickets and trusted the organizers to carry through their end of the bargain have been hit the hardest. Action needs to be taken, and I'm behind Arcticboy on any plans pursued on this issue. |

"If I were you, I would take Nick's lead and leave town"
I was pretty surprised to read this one line Arcticboy..I understand your anger COMPLETELY and again will say that i left Toronto for a couple months so I can work to pay off everything...I paid off my half of the ticket money before I left, and have contracts with all the outlets for Andre being responsible for the rest.
After meeting you a couple times and talking about stuff via email, I thought you would understand that I am not running away, with no intention of coming back. My life is in Tdot.
On another note, I have filed charges against Andre for theft above $5000 for stealing my stuff while I was in Miami...he still has not returned it!
Andre has once again proved that he cannot even keep his promises of making amends, just like what happened with Ferry Corsten. But lets not go there.
At any time you can reach me at [email protected] and I will get back to whoever writes me with their concerns..
As said before, if Andre does not return his part of the money then I will along with the rest of our debts...some one has to act mature in the situation. Of the $30k that Andre and I owe, I now have paid $7000, Andre has paid $0. The next money I get will go to the loyal TAs who rightfully deserve their money back.

Nick, my apologies, that was totally not meant the way it must have sounded. In fact, I have repeatedly said that the outlets have said that you were the one to give them any money. You have also consistently responded to any communications. I just made that comment sarcastically as Andre has commented on you "skipping town" in the past, when I know that's not quite the case. Again, this is not directed at you, but I (and others) are somewhat sick of Andre's B.S. I'm glad at least you have charged him. Of course, I would much prefer he embarrasses me by doing the right thing and proving me wrong, at which time I will humbly apologize to him. |

I have three words, and I will explain now why I say this.
BRING IT ON.
Why? Because there's a difference within this situation that you must be unaware. Simply put, I'm confident that no charges that are brought upon me regarding any of these allegation will the verdict be a guilty charge on me. Think you got a leg to stand on nick? Try me.
And nick? Are you that retarded that you have to try and prove yourself regarding how much money you put into debts that are noone else's concern? Stick to the topic at hand. Personal business in noone else's business. Grow up.
I will now officially end my posting until this issue is resolved. Maybe I'll see you out there.
And just to be on the safe side, why don't some of you come down to Toronto and ask around about what it is people think. Who's real around here...y'know??
Just so you know, nick has no right to respond to any questions regarding Wintergalactic. He has no rights to the event or the name, and cannot answer any questions to your concerns. So be patient and I'll respond. His responses are legally invalid and cannot be taken as black and white.
Nick, you destroyed my dream. The Wintergalactic name is done because of you. Building it back up, if at all, will be painstaking and arduous. For this and much more I have done nothing in response. But take me the distance and your confidence will crumble quick. I wish no response to this post, but I'm sure you won't be able to shut up about it. Or maybe you will. Let's see what happens... Drama queen.
spaceman
p.s> the reason I haven't been responding is because I still have to make enough money to afford and internet connection. When I do I can actually check my emails daily...instead of once a week at a friends house with 10 minutes to do it in.
research before placing blame, and let your conscience be your guide.
Goodbye, email me to talk. I'll get to you when I can.
