if so, then no. it doesn't really bother me because i'm doing what i want to do and slowly getting a college degree and i'm confident i'll be successful in a very male dominated industry.
i have a strong feminine to me despite still being a ball busting tomboy and as long as i end up with a man who treats me nice, i don't mind doing laundry and blow jobs:D hahah
i'm content with my role in society and who i am as an individual, as opposed to who i am as a "woman".
if that makes any sense. |
::claps:: thank you! almost exactly what i wanted to say.
for me its even weirder because i am a double major/double degree seeking... computer science + computer engineering. I am surrounded by males in school and in the computer lab. I don't have a problem showing that girls can build + program a computer (having a brain) and actually maintain two distinct eyebrows + while not rocking a pocket protector (feminine side).
The other piece no one has really touched upon is the thought of feminity vs. power. That you can not be both strong and feminine. Either you are the prom queen or the drama/art/band/math geek. That these are two mutually exclusive roles. I think that is the bigger problem to address. It will be very hard to eradicate the notion of beauty queen from a girl's head. As long as there is some object of affection, you are going to want to be the pretty one he picks. What you can change however is the idea that you can both "get the guy" and "get the grade"... |

| Go, cut off your cock. Seriously. Granted, I know some smart girls, but they all have various qualities that negate their intelligence. In my experience, most, if not all of them lack any sense of logic, are stubborn and posses a superiority complex. There's a reason, why males are males, and females are females. Therefore, they must have their respective roles in the society. I'm not saying that one sex is superior to the other, but you can't have similar expectations for both. |

Watched TMNT, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, etc... I had all the action figures also. And yes, I still simulate fighting scenes with them...in the bath tub. |
Fixed imo |

Yes, it is conditioning. From the earliest years of a female child's life, she's seeing the media portray women as objects of desire, because of looks...or whatever it may be. In this media view, to be wanted by men is important, not really anything else.
And most industries are still male dominated, which is why you see less females in those industries. That is slowly changing, but still not that fast I guess.
On top of that, men can't bear children. If they could, there would obviously be a good number less men in 'the workforce.' Many, many, many women leave working life to be a mum. Often over and over again. There, I think, is your discrepancy between genders.
There's probably a whole lot of other things too, these were just off the top of my head.

You sound like you are a woman |

I am sitting in an architectural office with more women then men.
My graduating class had more female architects than men.
There are many, many female gallery owners here in nyc...
I think your idea about creativity and sex is rather ignorant.
There are plenty of quality local female deejays all around the world, just no female oakenfolds, etc. It must take a man to have that kind of ego.
all the same (no pun intended), "equal" refers only to civil rights, and men and women are most certainly different in many ways. Obviously thousands of years of culture are going to result in some sort of numerical discrepancy.
In the past women were expected to live certain lives and men to live certain other lives. There have been many great female artists in the past, but since painting was an apprentice based thing or a school based thing, it was hard for women to get into it with such a preordained life. Even now we still feel the effects of this division, though much less.
Check Out Artemisia Gentileschi
She was able to get into painting because her father was an important painter.

that's not too far off from the truth if you replace "are" with "were". |

I absolutely love her beheading Holofernes series. It's on the same level of macabre as Goya. |

You could replace "girls" with "men" in that sentence and it would hold true. |

These are not qualities of 'intelligence' as you claim to know, otherwise you wouldn't have used words such as negate and lack, both of which by definition are an absence of something. So, how's about you go get some examples of intelligence without qualities of intelligence and get back to us... |
