well, that depends. are the Baby, child, adult, elderly etc being a cvnt? :toothless

im not saying we draw blood or anything ;) but children are simple creatures, not dissimilar to animals. and they respond to negative re-inforcement, including physical. i dont buy the nonsense of teaching your kids that violence is ok.

i used to get the odd whack from a wooden spoon and i was a better child for it.

See, I know what you're saying and ya most people would agree, well the ones who hit their kids I suppose. I don't care if my child is being a rotten brat or not, I'm still not "smacking" them anywhere on their body to reinforce my statement.

Kids are not as stupid as most would like to think that they are. They see you get mad, you hit them (even once does the trick) and they think that, " Oh, well mommy hit me when she got mad so when i do that its ok because she did that" ( using mom as an example)

I pulled a fit ONCE in a store because some kid pushed me. My mom bent down, looked me in the eye and said if you EVER pull a fit like that again, I'll leave you here. I never once talked back, smart mouthed or pulled a fit ever. My mom never hit my, belted, took a spoon to me. I don't see the need. hitting them doesn't do anything but let them know that, " eh, i'll get hit, mom will forget about it and i can do it again"

its just ridiculous. No reason to really pick it apart. Just point and laugh my friend, just point and laugh.

actually it is, i won't lie. it's pretty much teaching your children that it's ok to resort to violence when angry.

fact. :) even i'll admit it.

This is why half of America's kids are growing up with ADD and other bull disorders; because their parents won't discipline them. By the time the kid reaches ten, they have to take them to a ing psychologist because the kid can't sit still for more than a minute.

By hitting kids, you're not showing them that violence is ok when you're angry, you're showing them that if they do something wrong, there will be consequences. They will get hurt.

A parent should never get angry when hitting their children anyway, they should keep a cool head.

I wasn't comparing them, or any of them at all. I simply making a statement.

i have respect for people though...just not coke whore bitches who smuggle mexicans across the border in their pooches. I was being sarcastic to an extreme...but we are being too kind and giving everything to our kids without them earning . No one is saying put them in the hospital or even bruise them...but turning the other way and just warning won't work. You will end up with a 25 year old who still lives with mom (oohhhhhh sick burn:p)

or are you 26:p

wrong.

half of America's kids are as as they are because they have every goddamn luxury and electronics device in their rooms, nicer cars than their teachers giving them an education and because their parents are too ing lazy to give a . not because they're not smacking them when they act up.

i agree, and if you can parent without hitting your child more power to you. ive already resigned myself to the fact that my kids will get the odd beating, assuming im not too old and still in shape.

ive already chosen my tool

minimal effort from me, and sting like a mother******. and they dont break.

the only thing (responsible) beating of a child teaches them is that beating their own children in 20 years is a-ok. i never once took my home beatings and took that influence to school or anything. i just feared being naughty (ie caught) with my pares. thats how i want my kids to feel. if i can achieve that without beating, then fine. if not pkc's spatula of pain is gonna get a workout :)

As opposed to getting a sharp "talking to"?

Oooo no, I'd better not act up, Mummy might look at me in the eye and reprimand me. I'd better not throw a fit again, I might get a sharp word thrown my way, ouch! :wtf:

seriously, you dont need to hit the kid at all. You twist his/her shirt around your fists so you can pick them up by it and slide them up the wall and scream at them in as deep, loud, and throat tearing howl you can that you will abandon them only after breaking their legs if they ever even THINK of doing that again and you better watch out buddy *get REALLY close here and drop your voice to a vicious whisper* I can read in minds and I got yours on my in wavelength you got it pal
