Yeah, I've been here for a while, just haven't read enough of your posts to know that the line between humour and crassness is crossed so readily.;) If that's what they teach in the general level courses, sign me up.

Yeah well, put your feet up and relax buddy...it's the internet. ;)

It's true, one shouldn't expect anything more from the internet.

I just finished reading the articles and most of your comments regarding this situation and I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in.

1. what's with all the drama and sorry asses? He's been apologized to, the chick who sent the email has been fired, justice done, now let's move on.

To me it seems that the press makes it to much of a big deal, I mean, racial slurs happened before, happens; I believe there are penalties for racial discrimination.

2. he's had job offers for great positions; com'on now... if it was me wanting to have those jobs, I'd have to work my ass off to get experience FIRST before I can even apply THAN bite my fingers hoping that I could get it so I can have a career+pay my bills; this guy has them all served on a silver plater and isn't accepting them ... :/

Is it bad rep, which might affect the workplace environment he'd be working in?
who started this in the first place? if it wasn't for the big fuss he still could've worked decently without being pointed fingers at and threated differently.

3. Ms. Siu (not the HR person) is the one in the worst because she didn't even see it coming; all of the sudden she's bombarded by hatred and criticism, loosing the trust of almost everybody just because she happens to have the same name as the person who started the whole thing. Christ..

Who, besides her family, is gonna offer HER relief?

In a nutshell....overreacting and too much attention whoring, the real issue is that woman's reputation who didn't have anything to do with the whole scandal.

I find it disturbing that the antiquated notion that racism is never actually directed at white people is alive and well even in this forum. And that this discrimination is actually condoned.

Double standards die hard i guess.

Its frustrating that people glaze over the problem and dive right into the argument. This issue is not about politics or anything else; it is about knowing when wrong has been done. All matters of overreacting is secondary, when people cannot even agree on that which is wrong.

You guys are the only ones causing an argument in here, can't you see that? Nobody's disagreed that wrong has been done. Do you have selective reading comprehension??

The argument I am referring to is others beliefs on the topic. This is a debate, and in a debate there are sides and opinions or arguments; like in courtrooms ie. closing arguments.

disagreeing and minimizing are two important things in this situation. Some prefer to diologe and have a go at arguing a topic rather than throwing out random n-bombs for a giggle.

The only thing done wrong here was that someone didnt check their CC:

Whats next? Being accused of insensitivity to the handicapped because someone called someone an idiot?

...I gather than that you believe that the racist comments of the email are irrelevant, not important or worse, not wrong.
