that's a better way of describing it actually. it's like any concert.. they have a predetermined set list.

i just found this http://musicthing.blogspot.com/2007...ly-playing.html

Right. Predetermined, pre-planned, whatever you want to call it, but NOT prerecorded. There's a world of difference.

What were they doing up on stage if the set was prerecorded? Whacking off? They'd have been bored to tears... if I were sitting on a stage for an hour and a half with no breaks, I'd want to be performing.

I realize that the bar's been set pretty low in this scene, but come on, this is straight-up paranoia.

i've checked videos from other events today, even from europe and it was the same, it didnt bother me though and i still had a blast and glad i went, one of the best live shows ever.

yes, it looks the same because it was pre-planned to be the same for all the concerts... but that doesn't mean it was pre-recorded. I still like to believe they did play the tracks live, just in the same order as their other concerts.

if by pre-recorded you mean that they basically stood there for 1.5 hours while a CD played their set, i don't think that was the case... at least i hope not...

but yea, either way i had an amazing time.

It's a concert ffs. You don't go see them because they're ing awesome DJs.

best comments in this thread towards the pre recorded issue. pre determined, definately, like mahan said, and i'll reiterate; just like any other CONCERT.

i have an article from eye weekly that includes an interview with guy-manuel de homam christo, and he says that he and thomas are incredibly meticulous, everything is well thought out and PLANNED.

i'll post the article later.

only track they didn't play that made me sad was revolution 909.

i was waiting for someone to say that. i felt exactly the same, but i wouldnt change what they played for the world. at one point earlier today i was considering calling in sick to work on tuesday to see them in MTL, but its too impractical.
