Maybe, maybe not. Either way it's different. And I for one do love his sound. |

| i dont feel slapped in the face? should i? am i missing something? i mean, it looks like the 800, but that's about all i can find in common... |

All it's missing from the 800 are the sound coloring effects and digital sound processing, is that correct?

So wait, the 700 DOESN'T have DSP? What's all the fuss about the 24/96 AD converters that are both in the 700 and 800? I just skimmed over the specs, so this is kinda surprising...basically makes the 700 a cheaper slimmed down non digital 800, and a more expensive 600.
It's these kinda middle of the fence products that drive mixer prices into absurdity. Why on earth would you pay 1200(assuming that's the MSRP) for this when you could shell out a few extra hundred for a superior mixer from the same company? |

No it IS a digital 24/96 mixer. It's right there in the specs.
I just doesn't have digital inputs (SPDIF's) on the back, just as the DJM-400 is a digital mixer and doesn't have SPDIF inputs either.
It's essentially just missing some of the effects of the DJM-800. Not sure if the rotary kit is an option for the 700 either.
Sounds kind of like their strategy with the CDJ-800... just ever so slightly slimmed down from the CDJ-1000, but to make that little jump, you have to PAY THE MAN.
The 700 almost looks like a DJM-400, with 4 channels and proper booth and main outputs. |

Well, I still think this will probably replace our DJM 500 right now - still haven't decided whether or not I want to part with my Xone 62, but this seems like a solid second option.
We'll see what happens when I see what price I can actually get one for. |

And how are people claiming "too expensive" already when the only indication as to price that we have are the assumptions of people on the internet?

I wouldn't pay more than $800 for it. If it's close to 1000-1200, why not get the DJM800 then?
And the reason why Pioneer is so expensive is because they produce quality. |

I'm hoping I could get one for between $800 and $900, if not - then I'll probably sell the Xone and just get a rotary 800.
I'd really like to keep my Xone though... so we'll see. |
