Probably way more than you'd be willing to pay - I seriously probably wouldn't take less than $850, regardless of how reasonable or absurd that sounds.
I don't even know if I'd let it go for that... I love the thing. |

And how are people claiming "too expensive" already when the only indication as to price that we have are the assumptions of people on the internet?
:conf: |
Because it is Pioneer and everything they make can usually be considered too expensive. |

Fair play :) |

| In reality, any top-notch mixer is going to cost you upwards of $900-1,000+ anyways. |

Very true. If you consider how much R&D goes into a top-of-the line mixer and how many units they really plan to sell (there is, after all, a very small market for high-end DJ mixers), the price makes sense from a business stand point. They have to make enough profit to make it worth their while to continue to fund and develop new products. Don't get me wrong, their products are very expensive and cost prohibitive to many folks, but not unjustified. |

Exactly, just like any other professional level music technology you can expect to pay for quality or high end products that are geared to a specific demographic. No one would ever complain about Yo Yo Ma's 4 million dollar Cello being overpriced. |

| I guess it's a DJM 800 "lite". It's not really that different at all by the specs though. It's definitely got all the stuff I need. Now about the price... |

I wonder if internally it's all the same boards, chips, software, and they just removed some of the controls and I/O.

Yeah, that'd be interesting to see. Some of the stuff they just moved around and actually improved like the manual filter. I'm betting it'll come in msrp around 1200 (considering the 800 is like 1500-1600 msrp), but will be widely available for 1000 or maybe a little less. |

With this quote, I think it's safe to assume that this mixer will be less than the DJM800.
"Pioneer's new mixer the Pioneer DJM-700 is an all round basic club/home mixer with a lot of the features and functions of it's bigger brother the DJM-800. The DJM-700 is a lot like other mixers in the current Pioneer DJM series and brings a lot of tricks for a mid-level mixer."
Also, if you pay attention, you can pretty much do almost everything on the DJM700 on the DJM800. The 700 is just a stripped down version. |
