If I were you I'd relax. for one rumors like this have happened about twice a year the last couple of years.
with circus its I'm gene's hands from what I know. as trin said, the whole condos thing is gene's thing and he can move forward with it whenever he wants.
with avalon being a historical landmark, doesn't mean thing can't be rezoned and the owners basically forced to sell because it would be so difficult to deal with noise ordinance and other complaints. if there are indeed plans for avalon's owners to move on from there, I would imagine and hope they are already working on remodelling another venue or *gsap* building their own somewhere? avalon has just been way too successful to call it quits and from I see they are pushing to be different from the other clubs and bring out unique , upcominh acts and simply be able to guarantee that you'll get great music week in and week out.

It's pretty common knowledge that Crobar LA is NOT happening :p
As for a Pacha LA...they've been talking about that for almost 10 years now. Don't think that's happening either. |

Damn! I hope LA doesn't become another Vegas with clubs playing Hip-Hop and R&B all over the place...

| Crobar deal is dead @ least at there present location. Avalon will be open tell at least 2009 the condos won't be done tell at least then probab;ly 2010. |

People... Relax... I've been in the scene in this city too long know that venues come and go. Relax. Other great venues will flourish. In the 90's, Arena & Florentine Gardens used to be the spot, and now it's gone down hill. The Alexandria used to pop too, not to mention La Casa, The Palace, The Mayan, The Athletic Club, etc. There's been tons of venues. Some great, some blah. It's time for a change. And from what I've seen, change is usually good. Palace became Avalon, and it blew up!!! Q-Topia (the tiest rave venue in LA) became the Vanguard. Get my drift? Relax... Great things are to come.
