| the condos are next door to Avalon....as far as i know they have a long-term lease at Avalon and would be surpised if they go anyway any time soon...its also considered a historical building i'm pretty sure so it would be tough to get permits to demolish and build condos. |

They can't demolish it but they can certainly stop them from having shows there ;) |

well if the terrace is closed to music, while there still would be some sound leakage, due to the longstanding prior use of the facility i don't see how condos next door could get their CUP pulled. |

well, i'm still pretty sad about the closing of both of these clubs especially circus!! i had my very first clubbing experience there and due to the music, vibe and people it made me want to keep coming back time and time again. i just love that place!!!! and when spundae left it was pretty heart wrenching, the happiest club on the planet was changing. i still love the venue and now that red has moved there it got me excited about going there again but now we just don't seem to have a choice about that.
i haven't felt it yet, anywhere, the vibe that was spundae circus, for me, the best feeling from any place i've gone. and the best dj booth set up EVER!!!! i know the sound isn't the best and the lighting can be a bit too bright but still, there is just something about getting a big hug when you walk into a club, be greeted by tons of friends on the patio, get an insane ernesto drink from the best bartender in LA, have a huge open dance floor and be almost eye to eye with your favorite dj, and when it's over get the best damn quesidilla EVER!!!!! i just miss it and i know tons of people here will too regardless of your taste in generes.
and i love avalon too, it took awhile but once you look past all the washers, crack ally, the bare chested muscle heads, i have met a ton of great people from there too and hello..... the sound is amazing, the set up is great for performances and the mezzaine is sick!! so anyways, just my sad little 2 cents but i will miss them both.
yes change is inevitable and can often be good, i mean like woody said vanguard is awsome now that giant is there, although, bringing hip hop there mixing with edm, not so happy about, but still i love that place. so we'll see................:D |

| live/work lofts were built behind Ten15 a few years back and it's caused NOTHING but issues. The room in the main room is so low these days it's not even funny. Not even close to what it used to be. Noise complaints. In the end, if they zoned condos and people start complaining abotu the noise levels then Avalon as it is will be hurting. |

Circus is the best club to be a regular at ever. The staff is 2nd to none. The patio is the best in LA. and the drinks are by far the strongest. Not to mention the people. I think that spundae@circus had the most down to earth crowd of all the big clubs, and also had the biggest % of people there for the music of all clubs. but this scene has gone through many venues, and thank god, it will continue long after circus and avalon are gone.
