What he said, although regardless of the answer to this question, the answer to Spin Laden's question is
NO. |

if they are mutually exclusive then my question is answered. I was wondering if you need more than 5GB to run a DVD burner effectively.

..not quite sure either.
It might have to install some drivers? but you don't need 5GB's of space for that.
If you are talking about copying and burning stuff, then no, its not enough room.
Ie. Copy a DVD then burn to another DVD. When you backup the DVD it stores it on the Hard Drive and most movies are larger than 4.7GB
But other than that I'm not quite sure what you mean. |

okay, this is what I'm getting at. If I want to burn and copy stuff, do I need more space than 5GB? |

Not exactly true. Once he installs the driver, he can back up 4.7 gigs of useless stuff on a DVD-R, and thus clear out another 4.7 gigs of space on his hard drive, which will enable him to download and burn a DVD movie. |
