What I meant was that It's not my genre of choice. I know of various DJ's that this is what they warm up to, and this is their peak hour music as well. I play it because some crowds like it, but do I enjoy it as much as other genres? Absolutley not.

The funny thing with minimal is that I never meet anyone who loves it, nor anyone who especially hates it. Reactions range from mild enthusiasm to mild dislike. Minimal enthusiasm and minimal dislike, if you will.

Haha, pun intended. :D

Around here it's exactly the opposite.
People mostly either love it or hate it, there's no in between. :p

So, er, yeah. Pretty much.

Honestly, though, I sometimes feel as though I'm the person who most dislikes minimal, even though my reaction, at worst, amounts to "meh". Likewise, I don't encounter enthusiastic supporters. People who play the stuff don't seem to have their heart in it.

Well if you ask me it's the hype and its only 'minimal' not minimal. And if you take the few guys that play real minimal techno like Villalobos and Hawtin they seem like they have fun up there..

Oh, I'm definitely talking about "minimal", meaning the buzzy, bandwagon tech-house that has acquired the slang name, not the formal genre belonging to Hawtin and Villalobos. That takes a special breed.

Then I'm 100% with you on that one.

good music is good music. who gives a what genre it is. honestly some of you elitists are too hung up on trying to narrow down genres and subgenres. Let it go.......

Elitist: a person who wants to be clear about what he's discussing.

I'm talking about the negative characteristic many elitists posses which is arrogance which is all over this thread.
