Here's my review: biggest waste of $47 I've EVER poured out of my wallet... Made & co. should be ashamed of themselves, and based on random dozens of people I must have spoken with last night, they lost a lot of loyal customers, this was the last straw... $47 advanced tickets x 3500 people = $164,500.... There's no way that amount of money needs to be made, especially on a night that Armin happens to play the worst set I've ever heard him play...
Going to Pacha has become more and more and more "aggravating"... That word describes it all... And Pacha, get a new events/email-blast contact info collector around the coat check area, the guy you have is consistently an , and it seems like he hates his life and wants to die. |
I second that, biggest waste of $47 indeed. besides the massive overcrowding, armin played the worst set I've heard from him in a while. enough with 'big sky', 'falling' and all that crap, those trax have been overplayed all year long. surprisingly, last time armin played at pacha in mar or april 07 it wasn't anywhere crowded like this. but then again there was a blizzard raging that night. so it seems he's escalated to pvd/tiesto status since then.
anyway, made has lost another loyal customer cause there's no way I'll go see armin at pacha again, that's for certain.
speaking of coatcheck stories-what's with the girl who takes your $5 and tosses your dollar into the tip basket without so much as a second glance at you. tips are meant to be given, not taken, even though it's just a buck.
and yes, made are shameless moneygrubbers.. |

true, man, we should consider ourselves lucky to have those twilo memories to cherish. many aren't that fortunate. I have about 4GB of my brain's memory for Twilo Night Storage (includes sasha & digweed, pvd nights) :toocool: |

Quite frankly I am sick of reading everyone hate on MADE!!! They had nothing to do with the over-selling, it was Pacha!!! Made didn't even know that Pacha changed the VIP prices for everyone. PACHA saw the chance to make money off of Armin now that he is #1 and they went for it.
Made brings us some quality parties and are left with few large venues to bring someone as big as Armin too. Also keep in mind when this event was booked Armin wasn't #1!!! and even when he became #1 did Made go and jack up there prices that day NO but pacha did!!!
The entire club should have been open for Armin as advertised but again, Pacha wants to make themselves seem so cool they over packed it to make the dance floor look like the place to be. If you guys know of other venues to use in the city let Made know, they will listen to you!!!!
The ironic part is the people in VIP seemed to be more into the music and knew more about it then any of the jerks on the floor!!! Guess if you really want to hear someone you make the choice to spend a little more money and enjoy yourself then bitch about how awful it was. If anyone thought they were going to walk into Pacha and have room to move on the main floor they are crazy!!! |

With all due respect... Every dollar from advanced tickets goes to Made, they (as with every promoter) can track exactly how many are sold, especially in this case where there weren't any subpromoters (like Gerard) selling hard copies, all online sales... When they advertise "limited amount of $25 advanced tickets", it's understandable that they go up to $30 or $35 as you get closer to the event... But they went up to $30, and then $40, and then if you got them at the door forget it.... It's all on Made, their cashiers are the only ones working those nights, all door money goes to the promoter involved (unless it's a jointly-thrown party like Stimulus>Response or several other parties they have there), but the unique thing about Made & co. is that they ARE famous for having everything under their control, no matter what venue... So when something goes great, they deserve the claps and thumbs up, but when something goes bad, they better accept the boos... Out of everything, the only thing that wasn't under Made's control was the VIP table situation, but that was a situation that affected a few people on this board, compared to the overcrowdedness and ty dancing conditions which affected the 1000+ overcrowded people that shouldn't have been let in due to capacity issues...

Not really... I think the general attitude for someone who's comfy at their table with tons of liquor is a more positive one, as looking at the downstairs folk and their struggle to breathe lol... I was surrounded by people who knew damn well about their music and how bad that night's set was... If anything, it's interesting (and common sense) that the people at the tables are the ones who have the most positive reviews... Having experienced one of the most crowded parties in my LIFE this past Friday, would I spend a hundred dollars with my friends and get a table next time? NO! I still think it's not worth it... Many of the "jerks on the floor" (no offense taken, just explaining) were people like me, my friends, and at least a thousand true trance listeners who either sucked it up and said "Hmm pretty decent party" or saw it for what it really was, an overhyped sweatbox that we won't pay prices like that to go to anymore...
And with all due respect, maybe not so with the TAs' table that night, but the usual clientele that gets tables for parties like this is the exact opposite of the "music-lovers" as you said, so I have to really disagree, no need in generalizing based on one or two tables around you out of 100s that Pacha books per night. |

i think when all is said and done (and its been stated on this thread already as in others numerous times) is that the scene (and the crowds which attends these parties) are definitely not the same as they were in the past, and unfortunately, may never be. Organizing and throwing parties *IS* ,in the end, a business, and out to make a profit or to break even so that you can establish your brand and reputation and be able to book more parties, bring in more ppl etc. It's necessary to strategize and do whatever it takes within the market to stay afloat/profit/attract and retain customers. Of course, the definition and/or importance of creating balance between those factors will differ to everyone depending on where their priorities and objectives lie. The *ideal* situation WOULD be to create the best environment possible without having to "push" everyone toward VIP. Unfortunately this seems to be happening right now esp at PACHA and its too bad. Great for business but it SUCKS for the attendees. :( Of course theres a hella lot more to say on this topic and many more viewpoints. not here to create an argument, just my $.02 on it.
i personally look fwd to a much *BETTER* night and vibe overall at TGE :toothless |
