The more I look at parties around the world, there's not one party that even measures to the ticket prices Made has been charging lately.... There are festivals with 10 headliners that fit 10,000 people that cost 1/2-1/3 of the price it goes to see ONE of these DJs at Pacha, even after the ty exchange rate... Armin let me down last night, and so did Made and Pacha, was triple-threat.

i didn't go last night cuz i thought it'd probably be packed and paying 40 bucks for a sardine fest is something i don't like doing much anymore. sounds like i was right!

And Pacha, get a new events/email-blast contact info collector around the coat check area, the guy you have is consistently an , and it seems like he hates his life and wants to die.

Same conversation every time:

"Hey, you wanna sign up for Pacha's event list?"

"No thanks, I'm already on it"

"Well there are different lists, you should sign up again, you'll get free passes"

"No thanks, I'm all set"

(followed by the same look i would expect to get if i had just said that pedophilia is cool, or that i eat kittens for breakfast)

With me it's always:

"Would you like to sign our special events list, you'll get free admission and emails about our special events coming up?"

"No thanks, man, I get everything already."

"No you don't get everything already."

"I get 3 emails from Pacha and Made per day, and 4 texts a week, I get everything."

"Well maybe should (undiscernible after he trails off and walks away to the next customer to ruin THEIR night)"....

Seriously, I didn't pay $47 to have a shouting match while waiting on a 25 minute long coat check... I've been getting every little detail in Pacha newsletters since it opened, he should recognize me for how many times I've said NO.

Made & co. should be ashamed of themselves, and based on random dozens of people I must have spoken with last night, they lost a lot of loyal customers, this was the last straw... $47 advanced tickets x 3500 people = $164,500.... There's no way that amount of money needs to be made, especially on a night that Armin happens to play the worst set I've ever heard him play....

you cant blame them for making money. if no one went it would make sense to reduce ticket prices, otherwise why would they do it? but if they had armin in a bigger room, more people would have gone and they were gonna make even more money, but i guess there was nothing available for that date.
i knew it was gonna be packed after last time so i just didnt go.

Armin has indeed officially reached PVD and Tiesto status, of becoming too big to play in a club (at least in NYC)

Also remarkable that the weather didn't affect the turnout

No one's blaming anyone for making money.... But when there's zero risk of failure for a certain party, you HAVE to have some sort of balance between money to be made, that doesn't ask you to rip out your eyes or chop off a finger for entry, that makes your loyal customers happy... McDonald's could obviously raise prices and make more money, because people will always go to McDonald's, but that's just not how it works... There's a certain line that's crossed that goes from "getting your money's worth" to "getting owned". You can't put Armin in Sullivan Room and charge 100$, and so on... It doesn't work that way.

it seems like it works. if they didnt have another place it makes even more sense, because if the tix were 20$ even more people were gonna try to go.
