Had a great time at Trance Energy 2008! After going to Sensation White 2006 and getting mostly House music, I went in with expectations set at "low" and they were easily exceeded!
The DJ's seemed to play mostly their hit songs without a lot of new material, but I know that a large crowd usually wants to hear those hits and will complain if they're not played.
I agree that a "talent" stage with new DJ's (maybe selected by listeners to Tiesto's show, for example) would have been a welcome addition. Then there would have been something for everyone.
Entry was a breeze, never much of any line for the restroom, but going back to the lockers to leave my shirts was a huge hassle. First, I couldn't go back until later. Then at 1:30 a.m., was told that nobody could go back to the lockers until between 2 and 3 a.m. (during Tiesto's set!) I asked 7 different security people until one said yes, then was back in less than 5 minutes. Was then hassled at security for wearing a "football" shirt (until I turned around and showed them it said "Tiesto", lol!)
The drink tickets also seemed "designed to lose," and prices were different between some of the bars. Lost all of my friends halfway through Tiesto's set and couldn't even find them by texting each other (there didn't seem to be many "unique" places to meet, as there were multiple bars, restrooms, etc.)
I ran into some very friendly people, and talked about NL vs. USA for quite awhile...I want to move here, they want to move there...lol Nice to get some perspectives on our countries and cultures though!
I would definitely go back next year if I have the chance, this was a great party! :D |

Ok, this was a pretty good Trance Energy, but I was actually expecting somewhat more for the 15th edition, It really went by so fast. I also feel the crowd was much more aggressive this year than previous years. I dont know if it was 15th anniversary excitement or something.
Kyau and Albert were Perfect starters for the night really, I really liked there set, and then the intro was for Ferry Corsten was crazy. :eyes: :haha: :eyespop:  I really liked his set best, he had everyones attention and lead us on a Trance Trip. I left to see JOC and he was really awesome in my opinion... I was quite impressed with his set. Big Sky was amazing as always. Then I left again for the main stage and the area was blocked so I couldnt get in for the Intro, I was SOOOOOO Pissed.:whip:  Tiesto was playing a pretty driving set, I dont think he needed to have more melodies, which I was really hoping for, then I once again left the main stage and caught the end of Ernesto and Bastion at the Hard Stage, they were ok, then Rank 1 came on and I wasnt feeling his see at all. So i left and watched Sander Van Doorn, who was tearing it up. :eyespop: By then my back and legs were really hurting, So I decided to sit. I heard Mark Sherrys set and it sounded like he was the perfect person to end Trance Energy. Overall I give this Trance Energy a 8.5 out of 10. Prodution at the main stage was AMAZING. the Future Stage was kind of skimped on, and the sound in the Hardstage was not good in my opinion. I didnt goto the club stage at all this year either. So I have no opinion on it. I met some really great people and hope to meet some of you again next year. |

:eyespop: :eyespop: |
