Guestlists. What are they good for?

Does anybody else find the whole GUESTLIST business annoying/frustrating/unnecessary?

Which clubs (in Toronto or Worlwide) have have the best guestlist policies?

Which clubs have no guestlist policy at all, but seem to operate just fine?

Please tell me there are there other workable alternatives that reward customer loyalty, increase overall revenue, and help contribute to the long term success of a club.

I'm interested in solutions here, not complaints. ;)

yeh when the guestlist queue is longer than the general queue then that's messed up, and if you're only saving a mere $5 or something then that's a lil silly.

Free guestlists FTW! The promoter/club will make money on the alcohol that I purchase anyway.

True dat. People who want to skip the line should pay MORE, not LESS. I've got no problem with that policy. lol

The zone has a list, you just have to pay a few dollars extra to be on it. ;)

Lists are a good way for club managers to have an idea of how many people are coming to the club and which promoter is bringing them in. Unless the list offers no cover all night (or to a late hour, none of this 11pm BS) then I don't really see there being much benefit to the patron.

What? No you don't.

The fastest and cheapest (free) ways to get into the Zone are to A)be on one of the DJ's lists or go in with one of the DJs, B)have club courtesy, or C)tell them it's your birthday.
