Um dude. Forward compatibility is opening FL8 files in FL7. He is asking if its it backward compatible which means opening FL7 and previous versions files in FL8.
And don't tell me I'm wrong because think about Playstation 2. It was BACKWARD compatible with all PS1 games.
Backward compatibility means that the newer version still supports the older versions software & files.
Forward compatibility means that the older version will support the newer versions software & files which is rarely ever the case. |

true. by definition forward compatibility is the program being able to ignore unrecognised data... but it is often used in the context i did. eg. on the steinberg website it says cubase files are "forward compatible only" (eg. from sx3 to 4). bit of a bastardisation, meh. |
