that. Electronic music is not a ing religion (despite all the signatures that say trance is) and djs are not ing missionaries. |

Hi, sorry to interrupt... But i came across this and just wanted to clarify.
I see a few people responding to this "quote" and want to make sure they realize the only part of that phrase that is actually a quote from me is the "share this sound with as many people as possible" which is kinda taken out of context and reapplied.
The full original quote is from one of my promotional bios and is this:
"This is the most amazing sound I have ever encountered, I just want to share it with as many people as possible"
Hope that clarifies any confusion. Thanks, and back to your regularly scheduled program. :) |

I think he was hinting at a line of integrity when selling yourself as a musician. Sure, if you get enough clout you can go ahead and get your own line of Reebok sneakers that someone else designed and you just stuck you name on, but it's not necessarily the most artistically adherent way to sell yourself.
There's plenty of successful djs that are paid solely by djing and don't have their own clothing lines. And so yes, I will have the tendency to cut the big names very little slack when they claim they are all about the music but have shifted so far from music being their main passion it's nearly laughable. |

I'm pretty sure the sane thing to do when some one present you a shot at making more money with not much effort than lending out your name is to do it. So what if they come out with cloth and shoes? It's way better than putting out half-assed compilation CDs like In Search of Sunrise #36. I'd rather that my favorite artists put out good music and an fat endorsement deal than some one who put out bad music. |

That's the thing, the people who are endorsing themselves aren't making or mixing much (if any) good music. They are in it for monetary purposes so creative purposes take a hit. I don't honestly care if some musician I like also has a clothing line, but I will tend to care if their musical abilities decline while they're cutting copious endorsement deals and selling themselves. |
