I agree, although its not Armin's face that's ruining trance music... it's just him... oh, and The Anthem.

That ASOT 2007 CD cover makes avb look like a double glazing salesman.

Also I haven't heard this 'Anthem' track, which is strange because that interview made it sound like it was huge in the UK

I would imagine it's popularity has spread well beyond the boundaries of the UK, and I would recommend taking a listen in order to get an idea as to what passes for hallmark Trance hits these days.
jeronimo_jd
now they know at least how the guy looks
Stanza
Yeah well I reckon he looks more like a daytime soap opera star than a trance dj/producer...

This is OBVIOUSLY someone's ALT account.

How can you write a letter like that without properly signing it off?

I wouldn't necessarily direct all this angst and frustration regarding the over-sized profile shot adorning album covers to Armin, as some would trace it back further to accuse the GU series of perpetuating this elevation of the DJ beyond the music (although GU actually had a well-deserved reputation for quality output, but that's another discussion).

Armin's ASOT 2007 cover shot, though, was absolutely atrocious to the point of being laughable, and it seems from 2004 onward, more and more attention is drawn to his face. Whoever said "good, let's go with that one" ought to be fired. If nothing else, at least that cover provided a good excuse to develop a caption contest around it:

The witty captions just write themselves.

Yeah, but this cover is far more offensive:

Nothing says Trance like white capris.

I think it was "Touch my fingers to enter my world."

...cool, huh?

I dunno but i wouldnt want anyone to touch any of my fingers nor to enter my world...unless its a hot chick...

It's on the playlist for daytime Radio 1, so congrats on avoiding it so far! It's on in our office, but thankfully I've moved desk to a quiet corner and kick back with digital radio :D
