Armin unveils details for 'Armin Only: Imagine' (pg. 16)

Despite all the hate, does anyone remember some very nice tracks by Armin such as "Blue Fear" and especially a double-sided vinyl called "Clear Blue Moon/Star Theme" produced under his "Rising Star" guise in 2002? I have this vinyl and i have to say it was exceptionally good. "Clear Blue Moon" was a typical dutch epic trancer, starting with a fat super-massive-saw riff, but then dissolving into a breakdown with an exceptionally beautiful epic trance lead-line. It had this romantic "pseudo-classical" feel that was evident back in the epic-dutch-trance days with tracks from Gouryella, System-F or "Save Me" by Airwave (another amazing track choked with emotion) etc.
The other side-"star theme" was also very good. It was a an angelic ambient--tribaledged-trance track perfect for those "introspective" moments. I think that Armin had the talent to develop this kind of melodic-trance but instead for this, he opted for the more mainstream, poppy, trashy-vocals stuff. Obviously, he chose money and fame instead of musical quality and personal expression, but i guess this is EDM...full of fads and money... |

| see now i just know i'm going to end up trolleyed off my going up to every guy in a white t-shirt asking if they go by the name googooly. which could be a bit of a problem considering white is the dresscode & it's a ~5000 capacity event. funness assured! |

Ill be there not because im a great Armin fan not by any stretch but because the show will be FUN. I thought going out, dancing about and generally having a good time was what this scene was supposid to be all about?
Instead you see threads like this with loads of backbiting, snapping and general nastyness.
No Armin aint anywhere near as good as he was say around 2004 and plays way too much commercial stuf. But like most of the big name djs (across the genres) despite his weaknesses he is always worth going to see unless you just completely hate trance music.
Every big dutch trance event ive been too has been great for one reason or another. If that makes me just another lemming then at least I was being one with a smile on my face and not sitting by my computer having a go at people simply because they are not as experienced or as knowlegable about EDM.
I feel sorry for folk like this googoogley guy because he is getting picked on when he doesnt realise what a minefield this board can be. I just cant get my head around people chucking insults at one another over a ing dj. Its just rediculus |

Seriosuly, I really havnt got any white color clothes! im gonna go shopping now to see if I can find one( its not really my fave color), If not im sure i'll find a way to get in! lol |

I totally agree with you. I have mentioned in some previous post that EDM is all about enjoying yourself and having fun. Its not about whos the ing best and whos the ing worst and all that crap. But most these won't undrestand this anyway, all they wanna do is to find out whos their next target to attack.
Surely EVERY single ing dj has their high and low, so what?? Its not easy to produce top trance music all the time!!!
To be honest I'm not really a great fan of armin either like so many people who go really far to show their love about him, but I have full respect for the guy for dedicating hes LIFE to trance music, bad or good thats not an issue here...
After all this is TRANCEADDCIT and thats the ONLY reason im here. |

wtf lol? you make him sound like a messiah. the guy is a dj/musician who makes alot of money off what he does. hes not "dedicating his life" to anything |
