sorry, but I've already given them a list of the disgruntled.. your name is just below ANF's:p

I do think they listen to ppl on here but I remember that PR letter they sent out b4 announcing the BeB house room.. much of the rhetoric had to do with 'corporate' image, etc.. so that tells you what is dictating some of those dj choices. Ah, who cares.. at the end of the day it's really just music coming out of cd anyways :p

I was joking..its all good. :)

Nah this time the water was cold, it just had a "rusty montreal pipe" taste to it

i know what you're saying Marc and resolution was not a failure... au contraire... some people had a lot of fun there. Party was a success!!!

I know of the ridiculous profit sharing w/ Bell Center and the police fee/union fee/etc and it's too bad such a good venue goes at such a high price

However, I think you and I agree that a little competition makes the scene a lot healthier. Balenblanc has something to compare themselves to and at the end of the day everyone wins... Blended included. :)

I do agree competion is good, tribe party in terms of set-up was incredible. 2008 will be a good year for edm in montreal lots of new talent will get `residentie` etc. Happy New Year to all

i don't think you make a judgement like that, even though blended is heavily involved with event planning.

from my perception, tribe does things very differently. I don't know if you were in the VIP section or not at the TRIBE party, but there was A LOT of alcohol being sold to a crowd that came strictly to drink, this is different than resolution. TRIBE has a clientele that comes week in and week out to "ball it out" and they were ALL there in one night at the AMC. Im sure thats there bread and butter and no doubt that that paid for Sander, Sasha & Digweed's massive checks and those crazy lights

Im sure some of you have seen the amount of alcohol gets sold upstairs at tribe on some nights. They attract different crowds, older and wealthier ppl and music lovers. Brininging these 2 crowds together is the smartest thing ever, be known as underground because of the music they bring and commercial because of the type of ppl that go there. They win on all sides. This is straight up amazing promoting and marketing that no one in Montreal has done before. Probably since Illume back in the days. This is just my opinion.

The VIP at the tribe party was like a regular club. Actually, a high class, money making regular club filled with ballers.

yet anton says "long live the underground..."

:p

and you guys were able to recoup $250,000 from the wallets of edm peasants too :p

call it what you wanna call it

the ballers win...
the elitists win...
montreal wins...

I've spent several grand at tribe in the latter half of 2007 and feel that it was worth every penny. They brought a load of talented DJs in to a venue with sick sound; not much more I can ask for other than some type of beer on special for the non-bottle nights =P
