If they lost money at the S&D party... dont call it money lost... call it investment for future events
Even if they lost 50 K... its like paying a full page of publicity in Voir/Mirror/Hour newspaper every week for a year... believe me... the vibe around that event is worth every penny
Next time they throw an event... they know they have the booking possibilities... AND... everyone knows the set-up will be BADASS... because its the guy from Moog that made the whole thing go together
He knows he did a good job... and told me a week ago... that if you think that set-up was the ... wait till you see the next party my friends
If they made money... in great cuz that means they will most likely throw another crazy party like this one... even better
Was about time to see the city come to life
Only thing... dont close at 8h30... cuz i didnt want to leave
I was about to park the truck in the garage and have a little party with the car's soundsystem

very well said
they probably lost some money but their reputation went through the roof, and deservingly so
my friend even told me that Sasha & Digweed personally told the promoters to call them anytime for any even they throw, they were so impressed with the setup/lights/etc. |

LoL | i agree that overall its a kind of publicity that you can't buy with news paper etc thats exactly why i was pointing that fact and being them i would of done the same move .
- Bal en Blanc and Track Live have to work with a "every $ invested has to comeback because its our only chances to get it back" template
- Tribe have the "money coming all year long" template
both Party rock in different way! and both producer are doing a great job for the Montreal scene sure they're was not as much light but the DJ line-up at resolution was pretty insane for a december 31 and we we're very proud to be part of this event witch brought 2 years of hard work to the masses. After we put out the stereo sound double CD on mile-end records with an excellent performances by both Grondin and Vibe if you want a real light show and an underground feel Just come next february to the Stereo Sound DJVIBE/Grondin Valentine Party @ Stereo and give a "party favor" to sylvain the lightman and you will have a show! ;-)
The EDM scene in Montreal will be Rockin' in 2008! |

I think this is has a great time for edm in montreal, there's so many choices right now.beb, track live, tribe, blended with stereo, circus, piknik, etc. All of them have done an amazing job this year. Hope it continues, im sure it will, i need the beatssss. I think the more parties we have the better for everyone, more exposure to ppl = scene grows and that means the music played here will only get better. sick ending for 2007 and this year is already looking amazing!!! |

this is why Bal en Blanc does not take chances with its bookings and has to cast as big a net as possible and catch as many fish as it can with its ticket sales, so to speak. It's why you're seeing trance during the "house dirty hours" at Bell Centre, why you're seeing house during the drinking hours and why you're seeing wide reaching, commercial-like bookings like Guetta and Armin.
I still think it's a business plan that's shaped more for today than tomorrow, and I still think it's a business plan that underestimates the masses ability to take in something new and fresh. When Guetta takes the decks at Bal en blanc, I fear it's gonna feel like any other weekend at a commercial edm nightclub.
As I said earlier, Tribe did well in imprint its brand into ppl's heads. They have position themselves well to do some damage on the edm scene in Montreal.
zeKsg: We're lucky to live only two hours away from Montreal, you can't say the same for ppl out west in Van, etc .. and we're so much closer than Toronto even. If I lived in Montreal, I swear I'd have chewed out cheeks :p |

You got it alllll right Louis.
Guys wait and see the next one :)
The S&D show gave you a preview of what is coming :)
This event was not just an event, we tried to share a vision, the Tribe Hyperclub vision and where we would like to go with massive events.
There was an incredible team working day and night for this event to deliver its full potential.
My advice :) dont miss the next one ! |

lol. Keep that stuff in the freezer;)
Louis is also right about the djs..
Resolution was:
-a bit overcrowded
-uninspired decor
-questionable timeslots
-limited concession stands
- and too many djs.
I would cut maybe two djs from Res, have maybe five instead of the seven.
Again, this is only my opinion and, negatives aside, they did a solid job with the bookings. |
