Twitter is a great site.
I think "micro-blogging" is the technical term for it (blogging with 150 characters or less).
What makes it interesting is the fact that you can update it via SMS, gTalk, web, so it gets updated many times per day.
Plus after connect with those you know you get their updates as well. |

I went on that site, and their "why?" didn't really convince me:
| quote: |
Why? Because even basic updates are meaningful to family members, friends, or colleagues—especially when they’re timely.
* Eating soup? Research shows that moms want to know.
* Running late to a meeting? Your co–workers might find that useful.
* Partying? Your friends may want to join you.

Right. So every little thing I do I gotta keep it updated with Twitter?
Don't see this catching on at all, partly because I just can't see very many people typing in "sitting down to eat some soup" into their cellphone for every little daily task that they do.
- "feeding the cat" 1 hour 30 minutes ago
- "going to take the morning " 1 hour 40 minutes ago
- "had a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast" 1 hour 50 minutes ago
- "just woke up" 2hrs ago |

You may be thinking way to small as to what it can do.
Twitter is on the cusp of something huge. Every single media outlet in the US is using it (live, real time reporting of events), all election candidates are using it, most people in the interactive business universe are using it.
If you need something more "practical" as far as applications - check out http://politweets.com/ - it uses Twitter and the candidates to provide real time updates. |

You know... you might as well just wear a headcam streaming via cellphone to FB or a blog, and everybody will see and know what you're doing anytime of the day.

That video explained it pretty well. I think its more likley to be big amongst business men though, not so much teenagers. Its TOO much already!.... imo |

How about meeting somebody for coffee, and telling them about your day?
I'm with Cosmic on this one. This stuff is just going too far. |
