I have to revisit the night since I am feeling good right now.

Went out to the city early, about 9:30pm, Friday night, went straight to Matador, didn't know a single person there, music was very cool - good dancing music. I was about to go up to these three girls at the bar and say, "I know you guys are going to want to dance, when you're ready will you come and get me because I wanna dance right now but I don't wanna look like a big fag dancing by myself. Then the troops arrived! It was like someone opened a friendly face floodgate. Everyone was there at the same time. I immediately started dancing by myself, looking like a big fag. I didn't want to leave but I already promised Scott Binder and Playdoughboy (Dimitri) I would go to the SupperClub. I bet you guys had fun. When I left, the music was good. Was glad I got to spend a few moments with ya Jen before I had to run. Wanna hear something funny?

I was sitting next to Menno at dinner and he was going through pictures and he shows me one of Jen and says, "I don't know who that girl is but she is loud." :stongue: :stongue:   :haha: :haha: I thought to myself, "Brotha you don't know how lucky you are that you're sitting next to after I haven't slept in two days cuz I'll blow your damn eardrums out with my inside voice." :haha: :haha: Don't do it on purpose but I know I do it because more than one person has said, "Dude! You talk in loud!" Awww, it also made me smile cuz it was Jen. Remember that Rizo! They're all mine! One day I will rule the World with my harem of women as my soldiers ready to spill their own blood for me! I AM CAPT KIRK DAMN IT! :haha: :haha: :haha:

I AM MONKEY MAN!

So anyways, enough of the freakin side stories! Get to the point freak!

Saturday night my ass was draggin cuz my legs were too freakin tired to hold my body up anymore. Got all horny Saturday morning at the End Up, was going to share a cab to BART with this Russian chick I know, ended up going to Berkeley with her because I wanted some new old clothes. She ended up talking the horny side of me into hanging out and going back to the city with her to go see the Chinese New Years parade at 5:30pm which she originally said was 4pm. Went to the city straight into the movies and crashed. There went my plan of going to the dark movies, getting some playtime in, then getting a nap in. I was so out like a light. She said I was snoring hella loud. :haha: :haha: :haha:

Got woken up by the end of Step Up 3D supermax (or whatever it is) - best damn movie I never saw. Yeah! I went to the freakin Chinese New Year Parade in the rain to a bunch of bundled up, cute little chinese kids sing and dance, dinner, Anu, then walked to 1015. Remember thinking, "Noone in the right freakin mind is coming out clubbing tonight."

WRONG! Great turn-out and pretty damn good energy/vibe. I was in the hip hop room and heard someone call my name and turned around and there was noone there. Then, I see this dude looking back and recognized him from myspace. Omar, a TA from Santa Barbara, that had a thread on here about the DJ Dan thing at Ruby Skye. He brought his girl. I enjoy entertaining couples - no pressure. He was trippin on me - thinking I was crazy. Lucky I was once again, "Sleepless in San Francisco." Maybe I should go sleepless more often or maybe it was, just a thought here, drugless. That is excluding the alcohol and my trusty one-hitter.

Was truly a great night at 1015. I get very emotional about the house room. Love to see it bangin and really love to see it bangin until the wee hours of the morning. I think we did leave a little early. I remember hanging out downstairs and seeing those fans get their banner signed. Hmmmm, I'm going to go check out what they are saying on the Menno de Jong fanclub myspace. haha :stongue: :toothless

Lyndsay......my love......I have to say, "You were magical!" Great job! Woooooo!! I don't wanna create a monster here. Don't be Ego-Trippin on me sista. I'll kick your ass! :whip: :whip: :whip: Did I say, "kick?" I meant, "Kiss." Anything you want my beautiful princess. "Your wish is my command!" Isn't that what they all say? :haha: :haha:

Proud of you baby! Yes Dave, I'm proud of you too baby. :stongue: :stongue: You got the crowd going. Was hoping to see Mita but of course, what can I say? Dave's my boy like Blue! "You're my boy Blue!" :toothless

just really impressed with the crowd. Heard one dude on the phone in the smoking room upstairs talking about how he was in bed a few hours ago and now he was in the raggingist club in the city. And a white dude at that! "Come my brotha, Come, Come my brotha!" haha Screwing around. My 1015 family is actually pretty diverse when you look at it. My families have always been pretty diverse maybe that's why I feel so at home at 1015.

Okay, okay....SCREW RETIREMENT! I just can't be doing all these other venues to get diversity in so I might as well retire.

I think the house room would kick ass if it was promoted as four separate monthlies. Definately, one of those nights being a SFTA night inlcuding everyone on TA that spins house/electro.

One of those nights being a sexy night that attracts couples. My favorite crowd.

And also a underground sound night would be cool - something dance crew-centric. I enjoy playing with that crowd.

Finally, sexy singles gig. Turn it in to a meat market for one Sat out of the month and I have fun. Anymore than that it's always amateur night.

Just looking for the diversity in music and crowd. Sat night at 1015 is my staple. When I want to get diversity, I throw an additional night on top of 1015. Most people do something instead of. The same thing gets freakin boring for everyone involved. Sat would have been a perfect time to just up that house room. would have loved to see you jump in there Taj. You were feeling good too - love ya back. :stongue: Would have drawn the faithfuls upstairs and shown them a different side of you. Had one of my friends go off in broken English about how good you are. Tellin you, they'll go nuts for one of your house sets upstairs.

Anyways, as you can tell, smoked after work again and got all chatty.

Oh yeah! Someone show the new sound guy where the freakin upstairs air is. Thank you Rizo. Lyndsay owes you but she doesn't even know it yet. If that air didn't get turned on, it would be ghost town city upstairs. With only minutes to spare too. It gets unbearable up there without them on not to mention kills your high with a quickness. :eyespop:

Oh yeah, the gig at SupperClub was pretty damn good. Yummy for my Russian tummy! Them there Russian girlies were Smokin baby, smokin! Place was crawlin with em. Going to have to go check out more of Playdoughboy's gigs to see if they're following him around. :tongue2

Good night boys and girls have a great week.

Looks like everyone summed up the night quite well, so I'm sorry if you seem me write the same things. All in all, it was such a great night. I knew Menno de Jong would deliver. He absoultely destroyed it last time when Kilogram brought him out about a year or 2 ago. Saturday's performance lived up to that, but with the sound in the main room not being to its full potential may have mellowed his set a bit. On the good side the sound did sound better reaching the 2 oclock mark. It seemed to me that the sound was at best behind the dj booth and in the balcony. All in all, I think Menno did such a great job. And I hope he makes a return sooner than later. Highlight of the night for me was when he dropped Tundra and Markus Schulz - Fly To Colors (Genix remix).

I jumped from room to room to be catch Lyndsay's set as well. The house room was jumping. I love her energy behind the decks, especially when her songs build up. If you know her, you know that she has the same energy when there's only 10 people on the dance floor. Every time I went back the room was jumping even harder. Great job Lyndsay! She definitely needs to play there again and represent the female dj scene at 1015.

Simply Amazing!!! That is one of the best djs in the world right now! His set was insane. I did not drink that much but i still found myself jumping around every minute of his set. His skills are incredible. That has to be my all time favorite set at 1015. He played so many different styles in the 5 HOURS he was up there.:eyes:

Thank you taj for bringing him to SF. I hope he comes back next week :toothless

Oh yea, I am finally happy to see a dj that is taller then me :tongue2

Everyone pretty much summed it up. Menno's music was beautiful that night. He actually played a bit hard right out off the gate but slowed it down as soon as he got everyone's attention. He was so patient and build it up again that by his 3rd hour everyone were going nuts  He read the crowd so well and he was really having a great time playing.

Great opening set Blurr and Taj we were looking forward you closing but when I saw you tell Menno that he can play as loooooooong as he want ..... that was just such a "Class Act". :whip: :whip: :whip:

The recordings of Blurr and Menno turned out really nicely! Overall quality is amazing for 2 Mics hanging near the monitors....

Some of the best parts were capturing the crowd reactions throughout the night and everyone singing along to Big Sky! There sure was a lot of clapping throughout the set though... haha...

More info on releasing Menno's set as soon as I can get it... (Still need final approval from Taj too)... but right now, we're in the works of getting the sound juuuuust right..... I'll send it to Menno & Taj after we finish post production...

Blurr, your set is going through the works first though, since we have your approval :tongue2 ......

I'll keep everyone updated..... ;)
