Re-read my post. Based on your comments, you demonstrated what you know or don't. Anyways, no point continuing this discussion here.

I threw it out there because its true... most still hate eachother...

Just as North Koreans have a thing against South Koreans, or the Armenians against the Turks, or Palestine against Israel, visa versa...

For me, I simply don't care. You shouldn't judge anyone based on their religion, race, what skin colour anything... Everyone is different...

Again, what makes you think that its true? Based on someone you may be close to or someone you might know?

Hardly representative of 'most' I would think. In fact most I speak to are slowly wanting to learn tolerance. At least the ones still there.

Let me reword it then, those who are 'old-headed'

i say let them pull the race card. cause unfortunaytely the truth of the matter is racism does exist but they have to distinguish when racism is working in their favor or when its not. and this is deffinately not working in their favor.
capo tutti di
lots black only schools in the motherland...we could all pitch in for plane tickets

How the hell did this get approved?

Have they forgotten the firestorm over public funding for religious schools? What the hell is the difference with this?

I find it absolutely preposterous that they would feel a separation from the mix of our current society will somehow allow a demographic (be it black, or whomever) to succeed in our society???

Just absurd.

How did this get approved? Guilty, white, misled, ignorant, liberal politicians afraid of being accused of being racist, being pressured by two black mothers and their well-paid lobbyists.

We already have vocational schools that are focused more on wood shop, auto, and other technical skills for problem kids and students who couldn't or can't succeed in the mainstream high school curriculum. Why not add an 'Afrocentric' course to these types of schools to help these students succeed?

What scares me is this.

Did anyone else's high school ever get into a rivalry with another high school? Usually this happened between a Public and a Catholic school that were in close vicinity... I saw this happen between a few schools in Mississauga.

Now, those same rivalries will exist, but between the 'black' (officially, anyone is allowed to go, it's just the material being taught is focused more on black issues) schools and the Public and/or Catholic schools... What kind of tension between the communities involved will this promote?

What was wrong with opening up more schools for ALL disadvantaged kids? Black kids aren't failing because they're black. They're failing because the black community has a higher percentage of low-income, and single-parent families. These conditions exist in ALL racial brackets, just at different levels. Why the hell would they only focus on the black community, when it's a problem for ALL low-income and single-parent kids?

I don't have the answers to many of my own questions, but I DO know that opening a school specifically focused on black students is one of the WRONG answers.
