That's a completely wrong way to approach music. You shouldn't be forced to like a genre. If it's not your cup of tea, so be it.

Talk about jumping on the bandwagon...

You're right, but when my two favorite DJs, Sasha and Digweed, ditch the music they used to play that made them my favorite DJs in the first place to this tech/minimal house bandwagon which I do not like, what else am I left with?

Listen to THIS. One of my favourite tracks from last year, very deep and melodic.

And +1 on

finding new dj's to admire?

really, i used to listen to sasha and digweed non-stop. now, i find their track selection completely boring and uninspired. i stopped listening to them. thats what you do. find dj's that interest you when the ones you once admired turn .

Go hunting. Stop being fed . There's plenty of DJ's out there who still play that sound.

Erm? Shiva chandra is good minimal. Still that kind of drippey type thing though.

Isn't melodic minimal an oxymoron?

Because everytime he goes out he hears it so he might as well try to see the beauty in it. Leave the guy alone and give him some suggestions of things to try

these are my faves from Digweed Transitions Vol 1

They arent minimal, but more of electro-minimal hybrids. They might grab your ear

Dana Bergquist - McEnroe (Original Mix)
Popnoname - On the Run

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to take a listen... I did like Transitions vol 3 so that's a start... Like another person said, S+D was once my favorite pairing of DJs, but now more than ever it seems all the DJs I find have abandoned the classic prog sound... if you have any new names that still play prog house and breaks, I'm all ears.

And also, there are a couple of minimal songs I like... so that means the genre isn't beyond hope for me (in the way something like gabber, country, or NY hiphop would be for me, in which I don't like anything =P). Just because 95% of it doesn't appeal to me, doesn't mean that I have sworn off the genre and I should force myself to like it.
